My next door neighbor, Carl James, (at 703 W. 7th Street) burns trash and plastic and Styrofoam in his wood stove. The smoke is heavy, black and acrid. It is polluting the air. I think there must be regulations against burning trash like this. We have asked him not to do this and explained to him that it creates toxins in the air. A group of neighbors chipped in and bought him two ricks of wood recently, but his son took most of it and resold it. We do not know what else to do. Can someone from the City talk to him about this? Thank you.
Open burning - fire pit. I could see and smell a cloud of smoke covering my neighborhood 933 w. 6th
Neighbors at 904 S Westhill st Bloomington Were burning brush last night May 9th. The whole neighborhood was smoky and smelled until at least Nin Oclock. I worry they will continue.
Hello, I have concern about the back row of apartments at The Crossing on Pete Ellis. There is limited space (about 3 feet) between the wooden patio fences and forest area. People smoke and throw cigarettes over balconies. Maintenance workers also smoke during the day. Currently they are working on painting indoor at some apartments, painting outdoor hallways and working on patios. Could you please help ensure safety of the residents? Thank you.
Low hanging limbs/branches touching power lines and hitting vehicles.
Neighbors behind us have outdoor fires in a metal pit many nights. I don’t think they’re cooking for 3 or 4 hours. It often smells like they’re burning things other than wood. It smells bad tonight.
For several nights now large fireworks have been shot off near Smith and 3rd it sounds like in evenings
There's a trail runs along the back of the fields apartment complex. at the southern end of this trail by a pond there's often a strong smell of gas leak.
Unusual smell in the neighborhood this evening. Smells like some sort of petroleum distillate (which is why we're concerned = flammable?). Noticed not long after a train passed by. Went back near the tracks and it is strong there, but still very evident out front, on the street. persistent for the past hour or so.
