Ceiling tiles above soda machine in kitchen are not only not a single tile piece but it is cut/altered and pieced together. Numerous ceiling leaks and unrelated but they do not have a valid retail food establishment permit. Should not be open for business.
3 fire hydrants in Hearthstone Village covered when City snow plows pushed snow off streets. 3 hydrants in the end of each court, between 1204-1209 and 1312-1310 (Hearthstone) and at the corner of the access road and Bridgestone. The one at 1204-1209 is especially problematic. --see attached pic --there is a hydrant somewhere under that pile of snow!
Four hours of smoke now from someone who seems to burn leaves in Stiers Park (sort of a tiny gated community). The location is right near High Street and Viva. And has to be awful for people just east of the burn. Two houses to the north, we get a lot of smoke in our windows. Everything withing a quarter mile has a smoke smell. It may have been the same household last weekend. And in previous years. My understanding is that burning is not permitted in Bloomington (and most municipalities), except for pit fires. I wasn't sure whether to report it to the Fire Dept. or Police. It is a health hazard. It is also a nuisance. And though it seems to be tended, it's not the safest thing in the world.
Smoke detector has been beeping from condo for low battery for weeks. There are 4 condos per building, the windows in unit 708 have been open all summer, and the beep echos in the woods behind. If there is a fire it's feared maybe not all occupants will be notified potentially causing loss of life. The unit seems to be owned and occupied currently, but unsure whether occupant is aware of smoke detectors importance.
