Scooter left in the verge
Scooter left in the verge
The new scooters are a bad idea. They are everywhere and haphazardly parked on sidewalks, entrances, etc. More concerning is the of the scooters use on public streets, especially at night. They are much slower and difficult to see. What a terrible idea by the city. It is just a matter of time that I think someone will get hurt. Please reconsider allowing these scooters, or at least limit the use and scope of these scooters.
Hello, Someone recently stole my bike worth $250 between 10/5 and 10/6. My address is 1309 N Washington St Bloomington, IN.
Four scooters were parked at 7:45 today transversely on the sidewalk on fourth street next to Taste of India. They are blocking the sidewalk. If someone with a wheelchair of a baby stroller gets to this point, they won't be able to use the sidewalk. This is just an example, but in general these scooters, which have recently appeared in Bloomington, are usually badly parked. Also it should not be allowed to ride these scooters on sidewalks since they travel very fast! Please do something to regulate the usage of the scooters. Best regards, Carmen
Hello, My name is Lauren Fox. I am the Facilities Manager at Middle Way House. Every morning there is an increasing amount of scooters on our side walk and outside of our buildings. I have attached two pictures of where I have been finding them. I would prefer not to have any of them on our private property. I wanted to share these images to ensure that the spaces being used are in deed public space therefore we must permit them to be there. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response, Lauren Fox ps- I have sent these twice- each one with a different picture

since they recently appeared downtown, scooters keep being parked anywhere, many times blocking the sidewalk. (For example, like in the attached picture from Grant street). The companies profiting from these scooters should provide appropriate parking racks. The usage of the scooters should be more clearly regulated too. They are used on sidewalks at very high speeds.

Those scooters are a blight on the City. People just dump them anywhere. Get rid of them now. Do it before some dumbass gets killed because the riders are clueless about how to use them. AND KEEP THEM OFF THE SIDEWALKS. They are a motor vehicle.
I read an article that stated Bloomington doesn't plan on any new regulations for the scooters. I know this, if these students , as most of the riders I have observed are, keep going there will be problems. I have observed countless scooters on the sidewalks and I a becoming very irritated with the attitude of riders expecting the pedestrians to move aside so they can pass. I think the city needs to have police ticket a few of these riders so they might quit doing it. I personally refuse to move out of their way, as I should not have to. I also see them riding down the B-line, which isn't AS bad, but still is not a good thing. I believe if they are allowed to do this, then I should be allowed to ride my motorcycle on the sidewalks and B-line. Which I might do to make a point. $20 dollar fine might be worth it. Your attention to this matter is appreciated. AND it might be required in the near future. It's a public safety issue in my eyes. Thank you Frank Travis resident and tax payer of Bloomington
