In regards to the alley in between Lincoln and Grant, behind the Boys and Girls club. As you may know, that stretch of Lincoln is closed due to construction. Currently the only way to access The Boys and Girls Club is through the alley. The Club has asked parents to treat it as a one way, following the flow of Lincoln. Though of course not many are abiding and it’s almost caused me an accident last week. I had a small fender bender in that alley in 2019, he sped through one of the entrances to the alley going towards Grant as I was moving towards 3rd. With heavier traffic through this area for the Club, it’s a creating dangerous mess. I would at the very least suggest temporary “One Way” signs following the flow of Lincoln St during this construction to prevent any accidents and congestion. Thank you for your time.

Can the city consider installing “cross-traffic does not stop” signs below the stop signs on Allen Street at its intersections with Washington and Lincoln Streets? Cyclists may be lulled into a false sense of security as they ride on Allen Street, a marked bicycle boulevard, especially if they have just come off the B-Line trail where they are conditioned to cars yielding to them at intersections. As such, they might not be watching diligently for cross-vehicular traffic (or will assume that vehicles are going to stop for them) on Washington and Lincoln Streets, which does not have to stop at their respective Allen Street intersections. By installing “cross-traffic does not stop” signs (both eastbound and westbound) on Allen Street, safety can be improved by giving cyclists another warning that they had better heed the stop signs.

Maxwell betw approximately S. Highland and S. Sheridan included a very steep hill. When driving in either direction, the steepness of this hill creates poor visibility, and so very limited opportunity to avoid oncoming traffic. Please consider a center line for this area.

Intersection of Rhoer Road and Sare is very dangerous. Jackson Creek middle school is there and many cars, school buses and trucks use those roads . There needs to be more stop signs or a traffic light to make that intersection safe.

The intersection of 7th and Dunn has become incredibly dangerous since the removal of the stop signs on 7th St cross streets. There has already been at least one accident. A stop sign *at least* at this intersection, if not every second cross street, is a necessity for public safety.

The white traffic pylons were installed in such a way that there is now only one lane, with oncoming traffic, to turn into. This makes the intersection more dangerous, and I have seen several near-accidents there because there used to be a second west-bound lane to turn onto from Mitchell. Surely this was a mistake--the pylons could have been installed in such a way as to guarantee immediate access to Third St. from Mitchell, with no chance of a merging accident, and allowing merging further west.

At 7th/Morton, the “new traffic pattern” sign is *after* the intersection. It should be located *before* the intersection to alert folks that cross-traffic no longer stops.

There needs to be a four way stop sign at this intersection. It’s currently not safe for cars driving northbound on Hawthorne, as you can’t see very far to the left and cars come flying down 1st street at high speed (way over the speed limit) due to the lack of stop signs along this stretch of the road. This in of itself is a safety issue for the many families living along the road but also for the bikers and pedestrians trying to cross along that Hawthorne greenway bike route. Likewise, when approaching this intersection going southbound on Hawthorne it’s very hard to see to the left. You end up having to nudge the nose of your car into the intersection to even see when you ca. try to cross. I’ve personally had a couple of close calls with speeding cars on 1st. This needs to be addressed soon or there is likely to be a serious accident at this intersection!

There has always been speed limit signs across from my house and my neighbor’s house (2 specifically are no longer there). They have been taken down since all the construction of our new 10 ft sidewalks. They need to be replaced! Many people are driving 40-50 miles an hour down our street now! With our new extra wide sidewalks, our street has heavy pedestrian traffic in addition to the school just down the street. It may also be partly because it looks like a very wide open road with the huge sidewalks, people feel they can go as fast as they want. In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street. Thank you.
