Street & Traffic Signs

Resident reports that the stop sign at the intersection of 7th and Indiana is on the left side of the road and believes that it is against regulations to not have one on the right side. Additionally, resident reports that the stop sign at 7th and Woodlawn is also not in compliance due to exceeding height limitations. The resident expressed his concern that there would be traffic accidents because of the home football game if these signs were not adjusted.

Most all of Maple Street is marked as No Parking, except a short distance before it intersects with 11th street. 2-3 cars consistently park in that short distance, fully occupying the right side of the road. Cars turning onto Maple from 11th cannot see when a car is approaching the intersection on Maple, and the cars on Maple are forced to stop on the opposite side of the road, causing near miss accidents daily and excessive honking. I would like to request that the “No Parking” zone be extended all the way to the stop sign as all residences (including the apartments in the photo) have designate parking areas. The intersection is also frequented by school and city busses, causing even more danger.

In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street.
Thank you.
