It's not really a pothole, more like a bad spot in the road that dips down quite deep, large enough for 1 tire. Driving East on Moore's Pike, just past the entrance to Hyde Park, on the right is a large dip in the road, large enough for one tire. Everyone swerves to miss it, which could easily cause an accident into oncoming traffic.
I am not requesting a sidewalk, only that the city finish a sidewalk project it started a long time ago. Three years ago the city installed a new sidewalk on the south west quadrant of Kinser Pike and the 46/45 Bypass. A black fabric erosion barrier was installed and never removed. This eyesore has been in place since the completion of the project. The State of Indiana is unable to mow this area because of the obstruction. It would be nice if the city would remove this so it can once again be mowed. According to the city this area is part of the "scenic gateway corridor" to Bloomington. Pot hole from utility cut, just east of cross walk at Hyde Park entrance on Moores Pike, east-bound lane. Has been repaired twice, is sinking again.
Many students cross 10th Street near John Hinkle Pl. to get to the #6 bus stop. Should a safety survey be conducted in this location?
Dunstan and Allendale Dr. there is a 4-way stop sign. This is also the location of a City bus and MCCSC school bus. When walking from West to East down Allendale Dr. cars are at exceeding speeds over 25 MPH, and today while kids were are the bus stop multiple cars "rolled-through" or did not even stop at the stop sign. I believe this is a safety for our kids. Can there be consideration for speed reduction, traffic calmers, or speed bumps in our neighborhood?
The speed bumps here are massive and are destroying my suspension. The speed limit is 25MPH in my neighborhood but I can't go more than 10MPH without my car bottoming out on the speed bumps or hitting my head on my car ceiling. I'm all for speed bumps enforcing a reasonable speed limit but having two gigantic speed bumps every block in my entire neighborhood is kind of silly. I have to drive over dozens of these a week when going to work and have now had to replace my struts ($900) and my shocks/shock absorbers are next ($800). I have a Toyota Camry, which is a pretty common and rather robust car generally speaking so I doubt my story is a unique one. Is it possible to lower the speed bumps? Thank you.
To Whom it May Concern, I am an IU Student living in Jackson Heights. I choose to take the bus 2-3 times a day to get to my classes, in an effort to be environmentally conscious. The nearest bus stop is on 17th street past the gas station. There isn't any crosswalk/crosswalk lights on any side of the corner I have indicated. This puts myself, as well as any other pedestrian, at risk of being seriously injured. I've been in Bloomington since August and have, thankfully, avoided getting into any incident. However, I have just heard from my roommate, that she almost got hit by a car, as the driver wasn't paying attention and it's tricky for a pedestrian to decide when to cross when there aren't any indications to do so. I am really hoping a solution can be reached. I'd also appreciate any feedback on any way I can assist to help avoid a tragic situation. Thank you for your time, Yasmine El-Gohary
The bushes are overgrown and cover the sidewalk. It is hard to walk on the sidewalk without hitting ones head on the bushes.
