Water struggles to get around e Morningside and n Sheffield without pooling. Any chance curb can be built up a bit there or the cement can be shaved a bit to let the water keep flowing by? Thanks!
I live at the corner of W 3rd and Jackson Sts. There is a "traffic calming" device at the west end of the intersection. Another car just struct the curb with some damage today. Last Friday evening two cars struck the device. A week or so ago a Bloomington Police Car struct the curb and blew a tire. This is a common occurrence day and night, on a daily basis. Recently a crew repainted the curb yellow and glued on reflectors. The reflectors were soon scrubbed off by cars hitting the curbs. The curb needs a visible warning at eye-level that drivers can see. They obviously do not see the curb below their eye level. The new yellow paint curb has been hit so many times it is already black with tire rubber. Thanks.
Hey, all. I'm at 4021 E. Morningside Drive. Unfortunately I've been experiencing some drainage issues at my corner since the installation of a wheelchair ramp for the sidewalk. There was no issue prior. Terrific having the ramp for folks, plus the earlier sidewalk, but unfortunately it has no lip on it at all. As you can see in the photo, the street is essentially level with part of my yard now, allowing even the smallest rain to flood the corner. I'd love to grow grass but am having difficulties because of the situation. There was grass prior, but someone crashed into the streetlamp, and when it was replaced, the ground got torn up a bit. Beyond my yard, a small pool exists along the corner until it dries out as well, as it is unable to pass on through. Also sediment as you can see in the photo (taken tonight a few hours after the end of today's misting) is washed into the street with each rain. Please see if there can be just the smallest bit of lip and/or incline added with the ramp/sidewalk to keep the water moving instead of creating a muddy corner. Thank you for any help! (Or ideas!) Any chance you all might have a square foot of sod that is fairly water tolerant that can just be placed down there? Might solve my issue without any need for changing anything with the concrete assuming it takes root. I appreciate the consideration and help. There is also a bus stop right at the corner, so more than just helping me, it keeps the bus waiters from standing in the mud.
Construction is ridiculous. You have every street tore up and the traffic lights are not letting traffic get through properly! Why not do one street at a time. Enough is enough! And stop bringing more people in!
On Vernal Pike heading east in to the City, there is a significant speed limit change once you reach Cresent Road. There is a reader board that alerts you to the speed limit change, but it is located essentially right at the zone change itself. This is setting up a dangerous situation, especially in regards to school bus traffic and children entering/exiting buses. Vehicles are going very fast and suddenly the speed limit changes very fast (from 40 mph to 20 mph). Can the reader board sign please be moved about 500' west (prior to entering bridge)? If not, can another warning sign or signal of some type be installed to give drivers an advanced warning of the speed limit change? This will really help with the safety of this situation. Large semi trucks turn off Rogers onto W. 4th. When they get to the cemetery, they can't turn right onto Elm nor go into the cemetery to turn around. There is a sign at the entrance to the cemetery that says no large trucks. It would be helpful if there we a sign at Rogers and 4th. My tree branches are often knocked off and I fear that my car or someone else's will get hit as these large trucks back down the street to where they can turn. Thank you. Gracia Valliant

Traveling northbound on Lincoln Street approaching 10th street: The right hand stop sign is not visible until the motorist is very close to the stop. Also, as you look towards 10th Street, it is difficult to tell it is a busy thoroughfare. There have been several accidents with drivers, perhaps unfamiliar with the intersection, blowing through the stop and hitting vehicles traveling on 10th Street. I didn't realize I could post a photo - I may try to get one as it would be helpful.
Why are so many traffic lights now running 24 hour cycles instead of the yellow flashing late at night? Particularly troublesome lights are on South Walnut by the Herald Times, Henderson and Hillside, Lincoln and 3rd, Washington and 3rd. This switch was made about three weeks ago and is becoming quite annoying.
