To: Mayor Hamilton, if you could please look at ureport case #161401 from october 3. now it is 2 months later & that crosswalk button at a very busy intersection (west 3rd st & franklin) still isn't fixed. i see mr. cibor's note there from oct.18 but even if he has to coordinate with another agency, it still shouldn't take this long. i am afraid i am going to get hit by a big truck. i cannot walk very fast because of medical problems. also, there will be snow & ice soon, making crossing there even more difficult.

requesting feedback: Today is Monday Jan. 15,2018 and I cannot complete some of my personal errands due to weather conditions on the streets and sidewalks.First, my mail has been delayed since Saturday from the incoming snow storm. I noticed the sidewalks were not shoveled and some places were not salted nor were some of the streets were not plowed either. I am just bringing some of the few things to this office's attention because this delays all my daily personal errands like paying bills,etc. I look forward to hearing a positive feedback from this office. It is unfortunate that city employees cannot fulfill snow-plowing jobs when there are plenty of "homeless citizens" looking for work/employment that would have look forward to plowing the streets of Bloomington,Indiana. Dear Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. Saw someone yell at/harass a city employee for being properly pulled over with flashing lights and hazards while picking up trash signage along the road and in sidewalk area after the storm, and now that everything has calmed down I wanted to report that here. As a resident, I would like to know that the administration is supporting these civil servants that are overworked and underpaid and doing the tiring, thankless work that administrations and councils make their jobs. Are you all making it clear to those bad actors in town that behavior such as that is not tolerated? With doxing online and such short tempers, things seem to only continue to escalate with those who are displeased with government in general. Are the City workers we need being protected in their day to day? I would like to thank those cleaning up the roads, reducing needless signage and trash, and ensuring everything stays clean and out of the storm system. All those many groups residents see out every day seem to go unnoticed but are so crucial to maintaining Bloomington. Thanks for your consideration and time.

Please see attached photo. This location is at 10th and Park and has been reported to the IU Grounds Dept. as a tripping hazard. The gray bucket is there to indicate a bus pickup for the Boy Scouts that are in town but the metal and the sandbags are blocking the sidewalk, our crews moved the items off the sidewalk and into the homeowners yard. There is a large city tree -- a sugar maple -- in front of our house at 2321 S. Montclair. It's between the sidewalk and the road, near our driveway. The tree is dead and has started to lose limbs. I hope the city can send a crew to remove it soon. A few years ago, Doug Fowler (arborist) suggested putting a support in the tree to help its stability. I paid for that support, so if possible, please ask the crew to leave it behind in case I could ever re-use it. Thank you!

Comcast has set up a tent on the corner of 3rd and Atwater and is blocking the sidewalk with signs. Do they have a business license to be operating here? Are they allowed to block the sidewalk?

I just contacted Bloomington Transit, but wanted to report to the city Transportation department as well. I driver I saw a few weeks ago littering his cigarette butt at the downtown BT station, was seen eating while driving today. Below is the email I sent to BT. I hope this driver is properly trained and/or reprimanded. This is unacceptable from anyone, but especially someone representing the city. "Hello, Do you allow your drivers to eat food while they drive? I assume not; this is a major safety risk that a bus driver should not be doing. However, the driver of 4W, today, October 14, leaving downtown at 6:10p was eating chips WHILE he was driving. Not just while stopped at lights, but as the bus was in motion, having at least only one hand on the wheel while transporting 10-15 people during rush hour. I believe this is the same driver I emailed about a few weeks ago who I saw littering his cigarette butts outside on the sidewalk adjacent to Walnut St. What an inconsiderate, selfish, unsafe driver. I hope a wreck doesn't happen because he's endangering people and can't wait to eat until he's at the station."
