I have a client who has come to my office to report that there is a lot of garbage that is left around her house and across from her house in an empty lot. The garbage comes from her neighbor and she would like someone tell him he cannot spread his garbage outside of his property. She has confronted him before but he gets angry and irrational. My client has seen he leaves couches and large items in the empty lot in front of their house. She is asking someone please go look at the area and speak to him about this problem.

I work at Wininger Construction at 1605 S Walnut. Neighbor two houses south has lots of trash in back, including stolen shopping carts. Also, due to the amount of foot traffic into that home, I suspect potential drug activity. You may use the Wininger parking lot in back, to view the trash at that house. (Enter our parking lot from Southern Drive. Our office driveway on Walnut is very steep). We reported this house a year or so ago, and I think these are different tenants, but the trash is piling up again. Not a good first impression on folks patronizing our business, and appears to be a health hazard for the neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration.

The construction on Rhorer and Gordon Pike has pushed a lot of the thru-traffic on the South side to East Burks Dr., resulting in a traffic load that the small, curved road wasn't designed for. More cars are coming through, and not always at a safe speed. This issue is highlighted by the fact that currently, there are no signs prohibiting parking on either side of Burks Dr., so residents park on both sides of the street. This creates a one-lane road that has to accommodate a large traffic load (relative to it's design). Some residents have even taken to parking large tractor/trailer vehicles on the road, which almost completely eliminates visibility of oncoming traffic as you round the bend going from west-to-east. My suggestion is to please restrict parking to the east-to-west side of the street, and post "No Parking" signs on the west-to-east side of the street. This allows for the greatest visibility for both sides of traffic, and also maintains two-way traffic, an important element to South side transportation with alternate routes still under construction.

Hello, I am re-developing the property @ 3000 South Walnut. The location is where the former Southern Winds Hotel and Roosters club were located. The property at the beginning a workout facility and a chiropractors office. AS you pull out from the property and are going to turn left (North) and cross traffic, there are two trees located to the north on the side of the road. When cars are coming South and I am turning to the North, it is difficult to see whats coming and that is where the speed limit changes from 30 to 40mph, which is the place many seems to start speeding up. We will have more traffic than ever entering and leaving the property right from the beginning and even more as the property continues to be redeveloped overtime after the initial building and business's are active. A stop light right around there of course would be superb for the property but probably could never happen due to the traffic that occur that comes over the hill when people are traveling South down South Walnut. With that in mind I was hoping the two large trees could be taken down so it is much safer at that point because of the visibility that would open up. One tree is directly in from of the property and the other is directly in front on an older apartment complex that has around 10 apartments in it, it looks like. Would this be possible? Or maybe we could plant a couple new tress which would be much smaller and take several years to grow out? Of course that problem would show up again several years from now but it would take care of it presently for sevevral years. I am just worried about such a great new area being redeveloped for the area and future to have potential traffic issues with people being able to see when pulling out of the property. My recycling and paper recycling was not picked up today. I called twice, both times before dept. closed. First time, at about 11:46 or noon got a man, very nice; second time at 1:50 an answering machine. I'm told recycling is closed on Friday. For how long must I leave these two containers out for pickup? I finally called the Mayor's office, and Elizabeth filed a U-report. Naturally she was nice and very prompt in helping me.

Hello, I am checking to see if any pot hole and or improvements are scheduled for Weimer Rd connecting Tapp with 2nd St. This road is getting extremely rough and eroding away I believe somewhat due to the winter and the additional traffic that is traveling due to the construction work that is happening all around the area. Please contact via email or phone. I am the Office Manager for World Wide Automotive and have heard various complaints from our customers and also have personal experience traveling this that it is in need of repairs. (Not really "street repair" but I couldn't find the right category): The eastbound Stop sign on Maxwell @ Highland, in Elm Heights, is OFTEN ignored. I have seen cars race right through it without even the pretense of slowing down. On foot, I have jumped out behind the car as it sped on, waving my hands and shouting "STOP SIGN!!", and once a driver waved an acknowledgment. Another time, driving north on Highland, I turned and followed the offender, honking and blinking my lights hoping s/he would notice that someone had noticed and be alert next time. The Stop sign is quite visible, not obscured by overhanging trees, so I am stumped. But I wonder if it could be moved closer to the road, enlarged, painted (the post too) a more neon/catchy red, and/or moved to the CENTER of the intersection (tricky for the snowplows, I know), and/or a "Stop-sign alert" sign added well before, or maybe it could be removed altogether with appropriate alerts posted for the north/south drivers, which might be safer than assuming people will stop. This is a potentially lethal situation for drivers, bikers, and walkers in a very pedestrian-heavy neighborhood. Thanks.

The pavement which used to be a through street years ago and is now a city-maintained alley needs to have its potholes filled. The parking lot behind Dr. Linda Figen's office at 413 Howe is owned by Dr. Figen and that lot is adjacent to the southern extent of the alley. It is the alley portion which is city-maintained which needs the attention. Area residents have confirmed with the city that this alley is city maintained when repairs are needed. Several potholes are deep and pose a hazard to vehicles using the alley to access Dr. Figen's business or the parking area for her neighbor to the east.
