The issue is with this website/reporting system itself, not the courthouse. There needs to be a nonverbal method of reporting certain things - not the least of which being noise complaints. I lost my voice to cancer years ago, but I did not lose my hearing. I have a particularly loud set of neighbors, and I have been unable to do anything about them because I cannot call to make a complaint. I have seen other noise complaints on this website, and while their circumstances may not be the same as mine, it's clear there is a need for a nonverbal reporting method for noise complaints (as well as other similar non-emergent type issues). This report is for the person that created #192463, in case they are checking on status. What you have reported has been reported before and obviously nothing has been done. The same thing has happened to others and me. I don't know what would constitute negligence on the city's part but... they have dropped the ball on this one. My $.02 is fixing the deep dip and drastically uneven surface at the intersection (that's what took me out) would be the least, installing a reflective post at the corners would be even better, or better yet a railing. Thank you for reporting your friend's experience and I hope they are not gravely injured and are doing okay. With any luck this will be addressed.

Hi - the entrances to Bryan Park at Woodlawn and Southdowns present a hazard. A friend and I were riding bikes and this culvert is hidden when approaching from Southdowns. They didn’t see it, flipped over, and ended up in the creek drainage area. Please take a look at this area and install visible barriers. Thanks!

The north side of 13th Street between Indiana and Fess has an old limestone masonry sidewalk, maybe from the 1950s (?) It is interesting for historic reasons - it looks like it matches the sidewalks that flank Lincoln between 10th and Cottage Grove - but parts of it have degraded to a point that it is now a bit awkward to walk on it, especially at night. (It is definitely not ADA-complaint.) Is there an office in town dedicated to historic preservation that could commission a team of masons to redo this sidewalk? There is a concrete sidewalk just east of this block that appears to match the pattern, but it is poured concrete with pattern-pressed and actually looks a little comical, as if it is trying to be something that it is not. Also, a side note: there is no sidewalk on the south side of 13th Street in this block. If there were one there (especially ADA-compliant), people could more safely walk from campus to "The Standard" along that street.

I hope someone from the appropriate city department can help me with a tree issue on my neighbor's property that is endangering my home. Perhaps someone could contact them and request that they need to remove the tree or trim it. It is an investment property for them, which they do not live in, so they have not been keen on addressing it. I recently purchased this house at 1017 W Howe St. During the recent storms, one of the large silver maple trees at my other neighbor's property fell into my roof, destroying the back half of my home and causing extensive mold and flood damage. I am trying to address the issue with the trees now so this does not happen again to any of us. I only received half my claim amount from my insurance due to nonrecoverable depreciation and the deductible, which is only enough to replace the roof, though there has been extensive interior damage and flooding as well. Upon looking into the surrounding trees and contacting some folks about it, I have learned that my neighbors to the left of my house have been aware that their tree that is growing over my roof has extensive heart rot and is hazardous. The people who owned the home before them were landlords and were aware of the issue as well, but chose to sell the home when the tree destroyed their roof some years back, rather than cutting it down as needed, and it still hasn't been addressed. The people I purchased my home from said they had an arborist come do an examination and recommended that the tree needs to be removed, or at least trimmed back so it is not endangering my home should it fall, and it is likely to. I have also had multiple tree companies come do estimates for me regarding other tree work, given the damage that has occurred, as well as roofing contractors and chimney contractors. All of them say the tree is dangerous and needs to come down. I have included an image from the back of my home, and the tree in question here is the one on the right of the image.
