1229 W 12th Request for Collaborative HAND Walkthrough I am writing to share a very positive update regarding my health-based relocation to 1229 West 12th St. I want to start by giving a huge shout-out to the BHA team. Janice, Mike, and Chase have been so helpful. I am fully aware that the authority is short-staffed right now, and I am so grateful for the hard work they’ve put into getting this unit ready for me, including the brand-new vanity, the new door, and the recent ozone treatment. Positive Progress & Shared Goals: The BHA maintenance team has already knocked out some big items! They replaced the bathroom door and cabinet, which were showing some age-related decay, and they even swapped out a rusted light fixture and the old washing machine drip pans. It’s clear they want this to be a great home for me, and I am just as excited to be a great, long-term tenant who keeps this place in "tip-top" shape. A Friendly Suggestion for the "Finish Line:" Since this move was specifically planned to help with some respiratory sensitivities, I would love to suggest a quick collaborative walkthrough with a HAND inspector before I bring in my final furniture and fabrics. I think having that extra set of professional eyes would be a wonderful way to "wrap up" the great work BHA has started and ensure we’ve addressed the root causes of some lingering items: The Bathroom Floor: Since the previous vanity and door were bulging from old moisture, and there’s a slight "sink" in the floor transition, a quick check would ensure the subfloor is solid for the long run. Plumbing & Drainage: I’ve noticed a bit of "sludge" and slow draining in the shower. Having this cleared now would prevent a maintenance call-back later! The Washing Machine: While the new drip pans are great, the washer itself is still leaking a bit from the lid. A quick look could determine if a replacement would better protect the BHA’s new flooring. Air & Surface Refresh: I’ve noticed a bit of a sticky residue on the windows and blinds. A final "health check" on the air and ventilation (especially the bathroom fan) would give us all total peace of mind that the air is perfectly clear for my move-in. Moving Forward Together I am currently balancing a full-time job and coordinating move-in help from friends, so I’m eager to get settled as soon as we cross these last few items off the list! I truly appreciate the BHA’s partnership in this transition. I believe a quick HAND sign-off is the best way to support the BHA’s hard work, protect the City’s property, and make sure my new home is healthy and ready for years to come.
Dogs never taken out and apartment full of shit and piss. As well as 226 always yelling at her little dog as well as smoking drugs in front of her.
I reported an incident about 2 weeks ago regarding my mailbox being damaged by the sanitation truck. I submitted a photo showing the mailbox and was told that this would be replaced and was asked where we purchased the mailbox so they could purchase a new one. The status of my U Report was changed to resolved a day or so later. To date, nothing has been done to my knowledge to replace our damaged mailbox. Please advise. Greg Smith

Last year I had sent in a complaint about storm water running down Olive Street into the joint driveway of 1502 & 1504 S. Olive St. and 1144 E Hillside Dr. An asphalt curb was installed in the Fall of 2025, but they did not install to the top of the hill at Olive St. The water from rain can still run into the joint driveways of 1502 & 1504. Can this be fixed to where the curb will start at the top of Olive and run all the way down to Hillside or to where the other curb starts.
During the Winter there was a new water meter installed in the front yard. The workers made the ground very rough and did not smooth it out. There needs to be grass seed planted from where they dug up the yard. If someone could please take care of regrading the dirt and planting grass seed, it would be much appreciate.
