Traffic light at 17th and Woodlawn seems unreasonably timed. Attempting to go north or south on Woodlawn or make the left turn from Woodlawn to 17th has resulted in 2 minute or longer waits by drivers.
The intersection of 2nd and Landmark is heavily trafficked and is difficult to cross as a pedestrian. I would love to see a crosswalk added here provide continuity of the sidewalk on the north side of the street.
Backed up West bound traffic on Bloomfield Road is made a bit worse with the lights here off sensor during construction. The timing is providing more time than needed for cross traffic and turn lane, should be set much longer for E-W Bloomfield. The light further east at Twin Lakes has very sensitive sensor for cross traffic, also adding to the backup, could let the cross traffic wait longer and reset if they escape with a right turn on red to keep the E-W flow going if it can.
The current congestion on W Bloomfield Rd., west of Highway 37, seems to be caused in part by the timing of traffic signal here (the intersection of W. Bloomfield Rd., S. Basswood Dr., and S. Oakdale Dr.), Almost all the traffic here is east-west on Bloomfield Rd. There is very little traffic on Basswood Dr. or Oakdale Dr. But the but the traffic signal stays green for a very long time for the south traffic on Basswood Dr. and the north traffic on Oakdale Dr. I think the congestion of Bloomfield Rd. would be alleviated somewhat if the traffic signal at this intersection were reset so that it stayed green longer for the ease-west Bloomfield Rd. traffic. Hello. There is a battered, fallen-over road construction sign on the sidewalk on the north side of Third Street between College Avenue and Walnut Street. I believe this is leftover from the College Avenue road upgrade project that was recently completed south of Third Street. Can this sign be removed please? In its present condition it
I just moved to 2nd and Swain. The corner needs a stop sign for all ways, not just for traffic on Swain. Most of the intersections along 2nd have 4-way stops; this intersection is the exception for some reason. Drivers go way faster than the 25mph allowed; the area is quite congested with students moving back into the area.
The new light in front of the the Twin Lakes Recreation center has backed up traffic a lot especially during peak travel times, morning and evening rush hour commutes. I have lived in Oakdale Square apartments for over 4 years and the amount of extra time it takes to get to and from work (I work at IU) has increase by 5-10 minutes because of the light. As a suggestion I think the light should be a yellow flasher for Bloomfield road traffic between the hours of 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm. This would decrease the amount the traffic can back up in this area.
Tapp Road And Rockport Road needs to have a signal light . It is overwhelmed as a 4 way stop sighn and creates a huge backup during busy times. Tapp road will need to be a 4 lane hwy soon.
Large semi trucks turn off Rogers onto W. 4th. When they get to the cemetery, they can't turn right onto Elm nor go into the cemetery to turn around. There is a sign at the entrance to the cemetery that says no large trucks. It would be helpful if there we a sign at Rogers and 4th. My tree branches are often knocked off and I fear that my car or someone else's will get hit as these large trucks back down the street to where they can turn. Thank you. Gracia Valliant
