I live at Walnut Grove Apartments. Granted, no matter where you live, you'll get noise. But in the lease it mentions a noise curfew that starts at 10 pm. I have heard noise & thought it was the neighbor above me but it may not be him/her/them. I made a noise complaint with the police & reported it to the police. Well, it wasn't him/her/them. I have mobility issues plus I'm out of shape & overweight. I can't go to the 3rd floor to see if it someone from up there. The buildings are approx. 40 years old or so. It may not be blaring but I can hear it. I don't know if Walnut Grove can get stuff to go in between the walls or what. I have talked to them & they have tried to help to some extent. Is there any thing that can be done? I am trying to find another place to live but that takes time plus I'm on limited money & sec. 8. Please email me. Thank you.

I am curious as to why Bloomington, Indiana does not have any E85 stations (Ethanol for FlexFuel Vehicles). Is there a ban on it in Bloomington for some reason?

Sidewalk Requests

Case Date:
5/13/2015

On April 6th I reported eight sidewalk problems along the north side of Heather Dr. between Grasstree Ct. and Laurel Ct. I included photos and also mentioned these could be a safety hazard, especially for many of our older residents. The following day I received a call back which was much appreciated. Although some work has been done (see last paragraph), nothing at all was done to the most uneven slab. It is directly across from 700 Heather on the NORTH side of the street near a mailbox cluster. See 701_E_Heather_Dr.jpg. There is a full 2" difference in height. I am reporting this particular one again, because a resident tripped on it April 27th and received bruises and abrasions to her face and hands. Her name is Barbara Wachholz, and she lives at 3708 Grasstree Ct. A neighbor was concerned enough to photograph her face. Fortunately, no bones were broken. I notice some of these raised/uneven slabs were recently beveled or chipped off which could probably help. But I don't believe this was done thoroughly enough to help very much. For example the other end of the slab adjacent to the one I mentioned above wasn't chipped off all the way across. Please advise. Thank you, Marvin Allen, 3907 S. Laurel Ct. Street Lights

Case Date:
6/16/2015

I am a resident living in between the intersection of 8th and Dunn and 8th and Indiana. I recently graduated from the Kelley School of Business-- which is less than a 15 minute walk from my residence. I often had class or group/club meetings that left me walking home when it was dark out. Luckily, for the 10 minutes I walked on campus, I had a well-lit path. However, for the 5 minutes it took to walk down 8th street, I had to use my phone as a flashlight to guide my way; everyone I passed also had to do the same thing. I should have written a request a long time ago-- but I didn't and the point is simple. Please, add lighting to 8th street and the surrounding streets. Everyone deserves to feel safe, and adding lights is necessary, and quite frankly, overdue. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Street Lights

Case Date:
6/16/2015

As an IU student who lived off campus this past year, I often felt unsafe in several parts of Bloomington because it was so dark. I strongly urge for the city of Bloomington to install lights on not only street corners but in the middle of streets. My neighbors house was broken into and that could have been avoided by the simple addition of a street light. My house was on a 10th street but even one street in was completely unlit. It is a serious safety concern for all citizens.
