Every day this week one or more of the alleyways leading to our property (and our designated parking spot) has been blocked by a variety of vehicles, sometimes unloading materials, but more often simply parked in the alleyway for hours at a time. There is ample space to park on the street, and designated parking spots off the street for all the properties on the block, yet numerous people have decided to use the alleyway as parking instead. Today, it's a pickup truck and livestock trailer. GMC Sierra with Indiana plates: AAG248.

There is an abandoned Red Honda Accord on the corner of E Vermilya Ave and S Walnut St. It has been there for atleast a month with out being moved-- there are weeds growing up around it so I has probably been much longer. You can even find it parked in the exact same location if you go to the street view on google maps it is parked on the curb between 100 and 103 E vermilya Avenue! Needless to say it has been there for a long time. Attached is a picture of the back of the vehicle with make/model, liscense plate number. I pay $67 a month to park in the Morton St. garage. For the past week and a half almost, the gates to the garage have always been open. Anyone can come and go as they please. What exactly am I paying for if it has been open this long?

I parked downtown this past weekend to dine out with a good friend - the meter would not take my card at first, then it did, but wouldn't let me remove it (I though I'd have to leave it!). My friend did manage to wrestle it out of the meter, but we had to find coins to pay the meter - THEN - it only registered about half of the coins we inserted, so we lost $ parking so that we might support our local restaurants. Meter #76118 on the south side of the courthouse in front of Fountain Square. I suspect this is not the only defective meter? Might be time for tuneups?

Black truck parked on in handicapped spot and on sidewalk blocking handicap ramp .no one wants to say anything to occupant because he's a parking enforcement officer. But the sidewalk and ramped are blocked .

I am writing about the fact that there seem to be some cars that just use the 4th street garage as a storage place for their cars. The city suffers from not enough free parking downtown and the 4th street garage seems to be the place for people to store their trucks/automobiles for covered parking. I know for a fact that there is a very large white truck on the first floor of the garage that has just been sitting there for several days and hasn't moved. I don't even know if the truck has a monthly permit, but with free parking so scarce downtown, it would be nice if people would not be able to store their cars in that garage. I have poor Ivy Tech students who can't find any free parking during class time at the Waldron Arts Center and are pretty much forced to pay and extra $100 a semester just for street parking. I would appreciate somebody getting back with me on this matter. Thanks. Ingrid Faber
