There are many pedestrians like myself who walk North Walnut under the railroad trestle just north of 13th Street. On the west side of Walnut, this is so overgrown with weeds (some nearly trees) it becomes difficult to safely navigate there. Who is responsible to maintain this problem? If it's the railroad, they should be fined - especially in the winter when snow is NEVER cleared. The weeds are a nasty sight, too. One more thing, what should we do when we see homeless people making their 'homes' under the bridge. I just came past there and a couple of scary guys (trolls??) were making themselves comfortable. I'm a middle-aged single woman w/o a car so I often have to go to CVS from my home at 11th and Walnut. Thanks for any help you can provide!

The stretch of W. Dodds that joins S. College Ave. to S. Walnut St. has not been cleared of snow from the edge of Jim Gordon business then southward down Walnut St. I saw several struggling individuals today trying to navigate -- very dangerous with cars coming around so closely and no sidewalk cleared to walk on.

Soon school will start again. The following sidewalks have not been shoveled. This is where kids walking to Rogers/Binford need to walk. For some sections it is the only sidewalk available: Second Street: 1707, 1807, 1813, 2007. Second Street footbridge near Anita (supposed to be maintained by the city); corner of Second and High Street: the Greystone Court Apartment Building; on Second Street the vacant building that used to be Pinnacle school across from Rogers/Binford, as well as the Armed Forces Reserve Center's sidewalk. Also, 522 Eastside and 521 Mitchell, the sidewalks facing Second Street; the "hunter" footpath between Eastside and Mitchell (supposed to be maintained by the city).

Snow has not been cleared from the sidewalks along Sare Rd. right past the Moore's Pike intersection. There is a house on the left side and Renwick development is on the right. Also, the sidewalks are still covered with snow all along Hillside.

No snow removal by businesses on South Walnut Street: 1) The business building that is 409 S. Walnut; 2)Two lots south from there the boarded up building between Top 10 and the smoke shop that used to be a car lot; and 3) Sahara Mart's Walnut Street side in the 500 S. Walnut block. In fact, Sahara Mart's parking lot snow has been plowed onto the sidewalk. Saw all this last Thursday 1/3/13 when I walked there.

The front yard of 207 E. 12th is PERPETUALLY neglected. Right now it's the grass that's too long. In the winter it's the sidewalks covered with snow. Also, the front steps to the porch are at a dangerous angle and should be reset if this property is allowed to be rented. Lastly, there's a couch on the porch that should be removed.

No Walnut St @ 12th and under the railroad bridge: Weeds are extremely overgrown and it's nearly impossible to walk on the sidewalk. This area is ALWAYS overlooked (snow in winter is treacherous!). There are many people who walk this stretch daily to get to the CVS store at 14th and Walnut. It's already a dangerous stretch as cars fly down that hill beginning at 11th St. Add to the mix, the 'trolls' (aka: homeless people) who 'live' under the bridge at times until the area is saturated with a strong urine stench. With all the traffic passing by this location daily, why can't this be better cared for - instead of an eyesore?!

Our land lord is responsible for the snow removal, He claims the city changed the requirement and snow removal is no longer required. This is at 207 S Rogers Street, is this true? If so is the city now liable if someone falls and gets injured? He claims all that they have to do is scrape a foot path somewhere on the property a shovel width.
