Have not shoveled sidewalk. It’s been 8 days since snowfall.
Have not shoveled sidewalk. It’s been 8 days since snowfall.
The entire north side of 3rd Street, from Washington to Lincoln is impassable. It appears that whoever cleared the FlexePark parking lot used the public sidewalk as a dumping ground for snow. The side walk is covered with at least 4 feet of snow. These people know what they're doing. The utter disregard for pedestrians is nauseating. Is the Bloomington City Code merely performative? Please give them no warning. FINE THEM.
Elkins property management says they will shovel our driveway and sidewalk and they never do so we have to.
The entire sidewalk in front of the "Cityside by Alexa" apartments is completely unshoveled, as of late this afternoon. That is the north side of 3rd Street and the west side of Washington Street.
Snow not cleared off of the sidewalk
The public sidewalks along the Circle K gas station were never shoveled. In some spots, the snow is mounded high from the owner's snowplow. The utter disregard for pedestrians is shameful. These motorheads are basically telling pedestrians, "Go f*** yourself." Pedestrians are forced to walk into very busy roads near a very busy intersection. These photos were taken at 2:33 PM on January 29, 2026. I verified on February 1 that the sidewalks were still unshoveled – SEVEN days after the end of the last snowstorm.
This issue also happens at 201 W 17th St. Every time it snows, this property plows all of their snow onto the sidewalk on the south side of 17th st., forcing pedestrians to walk on 17th st., which is incredibly dangerous during busy times. These piles stick around for weeks after snowfall.
The public sidewalk along 17th Street in front of Square Donuts is inadequately shoveled. It is a broad sidewalk on a major walking route, but they have only cleared a path that is about two feet wide. Photo taken 2026 Feb 1 – 3:43 PM
a foot of snow remaining on their sidewalks
The sidewalks at this location are never shoveled/ salted/ de-iced. This includes the ones around their building and the main walks on 6th and 7th streets. Navigating these areas as a pedestrian is frequently dangerous due to ice and piles up snow during freezing weather. These walkways are consistently inaccessible/ impassable even for an able bodied pedestrian but the accessibility issue is much worse for some. This is a very large lot and creates a significant safety issue and nuisance for the Near West Side community
