Dear City of Bloomington Representative, Last night’s torrential rain brought a lot of water down our driveway from the street, some of which eventually ended up in our finished basement. We've lived at this address since 2009, and this has been a problem we've lived with since then. We’ve spent almost $15,000 on waterproofing our basement, installing storm drains at the bottom of our driveway, halfway down our driveway, and installing a berm on top of the driveway. Still, water that runs down the Anita Street takes a hard right into our driveway and overwhelms our systems. Anita Street slopes south to north, after it has turned from the east to west slope of East 2nd street. We believe a majority of the water coming down Anita Street actually ends up in our driveway. A lot of the water from the street also collects in the yard of our neighbor, Allyson Youat Schnable. Water that has come into our basement has damaged equipment, furniture, boxes and their contents, and is a threat to our foundation. I believe we have exhausted our options to comprehensively deal with the amount of storm water that is presented to us. We would love for the city to address the water coming down the street. As a rep of the HOA I spoke with owner at 3873 Laurel regarding the truck and trailer parked in the street and the complaints I have received. I suggested that he park the vehicle elsewhere so as not to block the street. He indicated in was OK with the city, he pays assoc. fees, etc. I believe this is likely in violation of 15.32.060. I'm worried about a mallard nest in the park - that the mom and eggs will survive with dogs etc. in the park. Just wanted to make you aware. It's located in the weedy area around the ditch that flows north to south, near a bird house.

Several cars without parking permits are consistently parking in Neighborhood Zone 2 permit-only spaces. I paid for a Zone 2 parking permit and I cannot find a parking spot on Swain Ave. (where I live) because they are almost all filled with non-permitted vehicles. I'd like to request stricter enforcement of parking laws in Zone 2.

I am not sure this is the right venue for this issue. There are very often parked cars on Lincoln St to the north and south of University in the yellow (no parking) area. These cars park nearly to the corner, making sight lines for those turning off University onto Lincoln very challenging. I have never seen these cars ticketed, and they do it constantly. Most commonly they are there on the weekends and in the mornings every day. Some oversight of this issue would help a lot

Don't know if this can be addressed or not (as I don't know if it is a city or private street light - I assume it is a city light) but we live at Dixie and Dunn and the street light at that location (on the south west corner of Dixie and Dunn) goes in and out and flickers consistently throughout the night which can be disturbing when trying to sleep or when our 10 month old is trying to sleep. More importantly, it reduces visibility and safety when it is out. Unsure if this can be addressed but we'd really appreciate it! Thank you much.

This person has regular yard sales (at least once a week), which I think I understand is not allowed. Please do correct me if I'm wrong. It's an eyesore to customers of my business next door. This is my second time reporting this issue. I expect my report to remain confidential. This person also regularly parks their jeep in the grass in front of their house, also an eyesore my customers. I have submitted that issue separately.
