There is mud all the way down the alley that is being tracked by foot traffic and vehicles. The mud is being tracked into the Cantol Wax building by the residents. It is also being tracked onto the city sidewalks leaving the alley due to Miller Pipeline working on the gas lines in the alley. 211 N Washington St
The bike lane on Lincoln between Fourth and Kirkwood, opposite the new construction at the southwest corner of Kirkwood and Lincoln never got fixed up after the construction at the southeast corner. So there is a seam running the length of it making it be at two different levels. Because of the construction, the street is really narrow there, but the bike lane is half unusable. This is a dangerous situation and the bike lane there should be fixed.
Last year, the section of the sidewalk at Washington and Cottage Grove was replaced, but the workers left a trench in the road that collects water and breeds mosquitos. I couldn't help but notice when similar work was done this summer on 10th street and a layer of pavement was laid alongside the sidewalk to fill the trench there. Probably just an oversight but it'd be nice to get this job completed.
The brick street on Park Avenue, in between 8th and 9th Streets, was torn up by the construction crews when they built the new Fiji house. They completed the work a while ago, but the street is still in awful shape. There are ruts everywhere, and a huge hole just south of 9th street. The bricks need to be replaced on this whole block.
I live at the corner of W 3rd and Jackson Sts. There is a "traffic calming" device at the west end of the intersection. Another car just struct the curb with some damage today. Last Friday evening two cars struck the device. A week or so ago a Bloomington Police Car struct the curb and blew a tire. This is a common occurrence day and night, on a daily basis. Recently a crew repainted the curb yellow and glued on reflectors. The reflectors were soon scrubbed off by cars hitting the curbs. The curb needs a visible warning at eye-level that drivers can see. They obviously do not see the curb below their eye level. The new yellow paint curb has been hit so many times it is already black with tire rubber. Thanks.
There is a 2 by 1 foot pothole that was intentionally dug in the alley that runs behind the property.So the pothole is between the property and the Hutton Honors College. Don't know if the city or party that dug it was looking for pipes or what, but the hole has been there for almost two weeks unfilled. There are 6 parking spots all in a row behind the property. The pothole is dug in such a way that it is directly behind a parking spot making the spot unusable. Also, when the pothole was initially dug there was already a car in the parking spot. The pothole was dug directly behind the tires of the car making it impossible to avoid when the car backed out. May want to instruct crews or whichever party was responsible not to do that. First of all, thank you for filling in all the potholes I have mentioned to you over the past weeks. I must say that maybe there is a misunderstanding re # 163413. I don't see any water valve there and the pothole is still the same: intersection of Jordan and Sheridan. Not far from there is another pothole: on S Eastside Drive, where it intersects with First Street. Also, there is a utility cut in front of 1800 E Second, that is getting deeper by the day.
Please place deer crossing signs on North Range Road. A screenshot of suggested locations on either end of the median is attached. While walking my dog last night, I saw a car driving around the bend way too fast, hit a deer, and just drove off. The deer has a badly broken back leg, but unfortunately hobbled back into the woods by the IU cross country course before I could get to him/her. Especially with the construction going on with the new hospital, animals are being displaced and showing up around our apartment. Please place signs warning drivers of deer that may be crossing. I am willing to donate money for this if needed so contact me. Thank you.
Can the city put some pressure on INDOT to open some lanes on 3rd and 2nd bridges? We have gridlock daily. Or maybe station cops to direct traffic? Or both? It's really out of hand and I rarely see anyone doing any work!
The subsiding utility cut at the intersection of S Eastside Drive and University is getting worse every day.
