I feel like the city should know that I broke my foot walking down the horrible Near West Side sidewalk last week.
I feel like the city should know that I broke my foot walking down the horrible Near West Side sidewalk last week.
The sidewalk widening project along S. Henderson St. is extremely dangerous for pedestrians and a hazard for vehicles pulling in and out of Winslow Plaza as well. The contractor dug 2' deep x 2' footings for new curbs at the sidewalks crossing the entrances to Winslow Plaza and put up now warning signs, barricades, cones, or caution tape. No sidewalk closed signs have been put up. Who is supervising this project?
One of your buses has the external announcement volume level set WAY TOO LOUD. Unfortunately, I didn't get the bus number, but it was the #6 bus traveling westbound on E. 10th St. approaching Jordan Ave. at approx. 12:20 PM today. I was walking on the sidewalk, and the announcement blared out at an ear-shattering level. I'm used to hearing the bus announcements walking on streets downtown and around campus, but this was something entirely different as far as volume. My right ear is still in pain as a result. Please check the volume setting.
Two broken down vehicles have been in the street for months, this blocks my mail at times from being delivered. This will block my street being properly cleared of snow as well. They have not been moved every from when I moved in over 5 months ago.
Overgrowth blocking sidewalk at 1011 W. 11th St.
Tree fell over in storm blocking the sidewalk at 1106 E. Benson Ct.
There is a very large and low-hanging tree branch at the intersection of Wilson and Rogers - it is blocking the view (i.e., in order to turn onto Rogers from Wilson) and it is also even blocking pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.
The hedges of this property are overgrown and block access to the sidewalk. This is a chronic issue - please remedy with homeowner (it's a rental unit). Thanks!
Fallen tree blocking side of road and sidewalk
The Vendors and the users of the scooters are nowhere near as courteous as cyclists. Those damn things are just thrown on teh sidewalk, blocking pedestrians and handicap ramps. They are a menace when ridden on sidewalk, and even more dangerous when ridden on the street. There is nothing innovative about these. They need to be removed from service until the vendors take better care of them when they are idle, and the users properly park and ride them.
