The street sign at the corner of S. High Street and Wimbleton Lane is broken, with the street names hanging down so that they are very hard to see.
I wonder what can be done about 2102 E. Wimbleton Lane in southeast Bloomington. No one has lived there a several years. Someone does cut the lawn, but the house is aging and in disrepair. In the past months, the gutter over the garage is falling off and the house is becoming a real eye-sore. Can anything be done to locate the owners and have them keep up maintenance on the house? I fear it will have an impact on house values in that and adjoining neighborhoods. Thank you. Kathleen Chmelewski email: kathleen.chmelewski@gmail.com
The branches encroaching on the sidewalk have gotten to be too much on High St. just South of Wimbleton. Pedestrian traffic is significant here, especially now that school has started, and it's honestly challenging for adults to get past one another while ducking under the branches. This is a popular place for people to ride their bikes on the sidewalk, taking their kids to school, and an adult biking on the sidewalk going down the hill might be in danger of being decapitated by all the branches.
Tree blocking road in front of Winslow sports park next to YMCA S.
There is a large pothole on Amherst Rd. It is located next to the properties of 2285 and 2201 Amherst.
There is a dead raccoon on E Maxwell Ln, east of High Street and west of 2200 E Maxwell Ln. The increasingly "ripe" carcass is on the south side of the street.
The street light that is located at 2226 E Wimbleton Ln. in Sycamore Knolls is not functioning - I am not sure if it needs a new bulb or has a mechanical issue. Also, the tree branches around it are covering the light fixture, so when it is repaired the light will be diminished due to being hidden behind the branch, the branches surrounding it need to be trimmed.
The crosswalk signal on High at Wimbleton mystfies me. I would think it's supposed to work by having the lights off until someone pushes the button, and then it is supposed to flash for long enough for the person to cross the street after cars have stopped. Maybe I am wrong about this. I can't see any evidence that pushing the button has any effect at all, and I often see the lights flashing at random times when nobody has been around to push the button.
