At the intersection of Clark Street and 7th Street the stop sign was changed from a 4 way stop to a two way stop and if you are driving north on Clark to the stop it is impossible to see if there is oncoming traffic coming from the west on 7th street because of bushes in the way making for a dangerous intersection
I have currently lived on Kinser Pike for a little over three years, but in this last year I have witnessed two accidents right in front of my home. Two others were witnessed by my neighbors, for a total of four this year alone (not including the semi that took out the utility pole at the skate park). Just this morning (3/20/2019), a car spun out and almost crashed into the timber once again while I sat in my kitchen. I am extremely concerned about the curve on Kinser Pike right after the skate park. Traffic has become unbearable since we truly only have one way in and out of the neighborhood and to BHSN. I have also witnessed several school buses exceeding the speed limit by what I would guess is at least 10 MPH. I ask the city to please consider looking into this issue as we have children who live on this street as well as pedestrians crossing the street or using the sidewalks. This is still a neighborhood and it needs to be treated like one, not a highway.
I live at 503 W 16 th St. my neighbors park on the street as well as the neighbors across the street from them. It makes it hard to see and pass thru and there is a lot of traffic on my street. There isn’t a sign telling the street name either at 16th and Madison St
As the owner of Crazy Horse Tavern, I’ve been volunteering for downtown issues for over 25 years. One of my personal goals is to grow the tourism throughout the city for building a stronger economy. But I’m now tackling a problem related to the substantial growth in tourism. It initially seemed reasonable to allow tour busses to park on city street in front of hotels, but there a too many days where half of the available parking on the block is taken by busses. Some days,like today, it’s 100% bus parking g without a single parking space available for a visiting family or business guest in the hotel or even a customer for a downtown shop. This isn’t normal parking management. It’s not good parking management. The busses should be parked in a large lot like the convention center or Assembly Hall (IU groups) I have helped manage a lot of downtown growth issues and this one looks to be easily fixable. Our property located at 805-807 N Smith Rd has a blind driveway. As you can see in the picture, you are NOT able to see oncoming vehicles as you try to exit the driveway. This needs to be cleared and/or needs a sign near the convenience store about a blind drive. It is very dangerous.
Left turn lane on 10th at Union and 10th badly needed. Constant backups waiting on one car. Or alternatively no left turn on 10th there permitted to Union either direction.
Can we please get a barrier like cones to partition the bike lane on third? This would help bikers feel safer and actually use the lanes and cars from blocking other cars and buses and creating problems by CONSTANTLY parking in a no parking area by slowing down and pulling over. I get annoyed as a driver but would be even more mad if trying to bike or driving a bus.
I live between Kenwood Dr. and 16th Street where it intersects with Madison Avenue. Kenwood Dr. and 16th street are both very small, and I have a couple of reasons to think that they should be made one ways. I have had multiple times where I have been trying to turn into Kenwood Dr. from Madison, and had a car blocking my way because they were coming out that way. Similarly, I have not been able to get into my parking lot on 16th street because of someone coming from Madison as I was coming in from Woodburn Avenue. It would really help the flow of traffic if there were one way signs, and clearer street signs in this area, and prevent traffic blocks on these small roads. On Kenwood drive, there is an apartment complex with diagonal parking, facing east. I have noticed that the car on the end has a lot of dings, from people turning into their car. I think this is happening because of the fact that when another car is blocking your way, you have to make a wide turn into Kenwood Dr. and then the person's car is in the crossfire. I hope this is clear enough evidence and that it will be taken into consideration.
Requesting road improvements to North smith or Morningside deterrent. Traffic at end of business day constantly goes through Morningside lots and quickly due to smith backup.
