The City is interested in making the 3rd Street bike lane into a protected bike lane, and this is recommended in the recently adopted Transportation Plan. However, Indiana University has expressed opposition to creating a protected bicycle lane. We will continue to work on it, and to work to improve safety and comfort along the corridor. I suggest you reach out to elected officials directly as well in order to express your support for such a project. Thank you.
