Earlier today, July 19, I called to report a broken tree limb and spoke with Laura. She was very courteous and told me she would report this to the appropriate party. The service was outstanding - within an hour Daryl (Darrell?) was out to 4020 East Bennington Blvd and had removed the limb in question. He was courteous and did a fabulous job. We would like to thank the Street Department for their excellent work. Karin and Steven Coopersmith 812.320.3813

Please fix the intersection on Clarizz and Morse Pike when you turn right off Clarizz onto Morse Pike you have to pull up way past the cross walk to see and people make lazy left turns there. You did a great job with the cross walk but please just make a turn lane, cut back the trees and help make this intersection safer!

Street & Traffic Signs

There are two dangerous locations on West Third Street at Landmark and Patterson, which would be greatly improved upon by designating the right lanes at Landmark and Patterson as turn only lanes. The problem is created by indecisive traffic flow within a very short range of road before it splits off near Kleindorfers (West Third [turns into Adams] and Kirkwood. Drivers are constantly trying to anticipate turning cars by either driving in the left lane of West Third for a while and then jumping over to the right in front of other drivers, or by driving in the right lane of West Third and jumping back into the left lane before the street splits at Kleindorfers (Adams and Kirkwood).
From West Third and Landmark to West Third and Patterson is approximately 900 feet. From West Third (turns into Adams) and Patterson to split from Adams and Kirkwood is approximately 600 feet.
This causes bottleneck cars trying to weave in and out of traffic with in a 900 to 600 foot range.
Thank you in advance for your consideration,
Janda Bain

Referring to report Case 170099 handled by Chris Axsom. This case was closed 9/4 and I was advised that Duke fixed it 8/30. The last 3 mornings when I go outside around 6am (totally dark yet), the light is still completely out...no illumination whatsoever. I question if it is really fixed, or maybe I just don't understand when it is on and when it's not. Thank you!

I came home on my lunch hour to find my trash can still full with a note on it saying it was "too close to the car to pick up". This tells me that the person who left the note was able to get out of the truck and stick it on my can, but couldn't be bothered to move the can to the correct spot and pick it up. I would understand the disdain if I were a repeat offender, but is this the common way? They could have taken my can, and still left a note so we would do better next week, but instead come off as condescending a lazy. If this is acceptable, this is a poorly managed service, I guess.

There is a raised sidewalk on Moores Pike between S. Clarizz Blvd. and S. Fenbrook Ln. The sidewalk is raised about 3 feet above street level and there is no rail between the sidewalk and the road. It's dangerous to walk along the sidewalk especially if you're using a stroller.

The Royal Toyota South car lot has a loud speaker that projects its phone ringing for the whole world to hear. I am more than 1,800 feet away from the car lot, through the woods, and can hear the phone ring while in my house listening to music. Between 3:45pm and 4pm today, it rang 12 times.
I've read the applicable section of the municipal code, 14.09.030(c)(4). The language that I find applies is, "the sound produced persists . . . intermittently for a period of at least fifteen minutes and can be heard outside of the immediate premises from the location."
I have reported this noise violation multiple times with no resolution. Is the solution that I call the police every time the car lot is a nuisance? I do not want to waste the police's limited resources on something that should be easily resolved administratively by the city government (and with technology; can the car lot get a cell phone, a pager, an answering machine, something?).
uReport Case #166220 did get referred to the police, who referred the case to city legal in January of 2019. The phone has continued to ring since that time.
Can we finally get this issue resolved and bring some peace and quiet to the south side from this incessant noise violation from the car lot?
Thank you for your help.
