Drainage or Runoff
1725 E Hunter AVE
- Case Date:
- 3/13/2019
After the heavy storm a month ago the parking strip (city property) in front of 1725 East Hunter Ave was severely eroded with the gravel/crushed stone swept down the street and the tarmac beginning to crumble. The city installed a storm water sewer in this location a couple of years ago but it doesn't catch the surface drainage from Hunter. The upstream neighbour has heavy round river pebbles in their parking strip which seem to resist erosion. Could something like this be put in the problem area? Or is there some other solution?

Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)
422 E Allen ST
- Case Date:
- 3/15/2019
At the corner of Allen and Palmer the rain has created a gully that is below the storm sewer. The water continues around the corner and south (downhill) on Palmer creating a strong washout of the asphalt. The storm sewer at the bottom of the hill in front of 1005 S Palmer collects chunks of asphalt and the gully gets wider with every rain event
Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)
1024 S Graywell DR
- Case Date:
- 3/16/2019
On Thursday March 14, part of this tree came down at 1024 S. Graywell drive due to the strong winds. I reported this thru this system, was notified that the case was assigned to Danna Workman and then I received a notice on March 15, Friday, that the case was closed by Chris Axom and that the debris had been removed. That is 100% not the case. This tree is still down, is still blocking part of the road, is still laying in the common space and is STILL blocking the sidewalk.
Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)
2120 E Arden DR
- Case Date:
- 3/17/2019
On February 24 during a wind storm a tree, which stands near the power line between Arden Dr. and Queens Way, dangerously cracked. The workers from Duke Energy, who cut a big portion of the tree, understandably didn’t want it to fall on the power line. They did it in a such way that branches fell to our back yard and even damaged the fence. Duke doesn’t want to remove debris and repair the fence. Despite the tree stand on the land belonging to Duke (or town?) and the damage was not the act of nature, they claim that it is not their responsibility. Please help us to recover from this Duke’s «gift».

Trails
301 W Country Club DR
- Case Date:
- 3/18/2019
I've recently noticed the Rail Trail between Country Club Drive and Gordon Pike has sections of large gravel (see attached photo).
I appreciate that maintenance is being done, assuming the City is responsible for this work. But, I am concerned because this large gravel is inconsistent with the existing surface for the trail.
As a bike commuter and runner on this section of the trail, I was disappointed to see large gravel appear on the surface. The Rail Trail is a great surface to run and walk on and commute on. These patches of large gravel pieces diminish it's utility and enjoyment.
Are there plans to use large gravel more often on the trail? I request that the smaller, packed surface be maintained.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you about the maintenance of the trail. Have a great day.
