Anthony’s Pets in the college mall is a hub for animal mistreatment and abuse. Animals from puppies to rats are stuck in i humane conditions and pumped full of steroids to act normal until purchased and brought home where diseases and other issues can surface. Dogs have been killed because they don’t want to pay for vet visits. Most of the dogs come from illegal puppy mills that mass produce dogs inhumanely and I don’t want this business in my city. I don’t want Bloomington to be associated with the inhuman treatment of animals, and Anthony’s Pets stands for that.

Biking & Walking

1200-1298 E Hillside Dr, Bloomington, Indiana, 47401

Case Date:
8/26/2019

The Highland-Hawthorne Bike greenway crosses Hillside Drive at Weatherstone/Olive. This crossing can be difficult and somewhat dangerous, as traffic on Hillside often seems to traveling quite fast, and can be quite busy at certain times of the day. Could the city look into placing a button activated crossing here, much like the one for crossing Walnut at Allen? This could go a long way towards making this crossing a bit safer for families trying to utilize the greenway to access Bryan Park.

Scooters, Bike-share and Related Issues

501 N Morton ST

Case Date:

A few times I have noticed scooters riding on the square. Yelling to the riders they have to dismount and they ignore me. I think these signs are too high so riders don't notice them. I didn't realize they were there for a while. Why not lower them to eye level so they will be noticed.

Parks & Playgrounds

501 N Morton ST

I went to the RCA Park yesterday looking for the pickleball courts that I saw were located here when I searched on line. When I saw this sign I was confused. I didn't see any sign for pickleball so I thought I had the wrong place. I was about ready to leave when I finally noticed the pickleball courts beside the tennis courts. Why not put up a sign up for the pickleball courts to avoid confusion for others. Thank you

Anthony’s Pet Shop in College Mall mistreats their animals, allowing them to live in extremely inadequate cages, puts their animals on unsafe steroids and has a very unsanitary environment for their animals they’re selling. Many animals have been purchased with customers unaware of the animal having parvovirus as well as many other illnesses.

Anthony’s Pet store is the most disgusting place I have ever been. I have left crying every time. These dogs are in terrible conditions and are expected to live in very small glass boxes with no comfort at all. They never go outside and most of them always look sick. Get this place shut down

Anthonys pets in College Mall operates a business that harms animals by not providing adequate food and space, in addition to obtaining these animals through less than ethical means (puppy mills). The fact that the city of Bloomington has done nothing to look into these conditions is appalling. By continuing to allow this store to operate in a high traffic area of Bloomington, the city sends the message that the ethics and morals of this shop are okay. I implore the city to look into Anthony's pet shop and take immediate action.
