I live in a row of townhouses in the Summit Woods neighborhood. We're serviced by two Rays trash dumpsters in the road behind our houses. They have not been picked up in over two weeks and the trash is piling up in a gross and unhealthy way (contractors and college students are also driving in to dump their trash overnight which is making everything worse). I called Rays this morning and they said they can't service these dumpsters because of the snow. I explained that they hadn't been serviced for a week or more before the storm and they disputed this and said there is nothing they can do to help. Is there anything the city can do to help us? There are a lot of families in our neighborhood with small kids and this has become an ongoing health as well as an eyesore issue for us.

An anonymous complainant alerted the Solid Waste District about "illegal dumping" of ash wood, as well as concrete and trash at this location. We did a quick inspection and found wood and other materials piled on the ground at the property. Additionally there is a trailer that appears to contain household waste, and there is trash around one of the buildings (on Allen Street side). This property is once again in violation of grass and weeds being above the 8 inch limit. Complaints were filed a month ago, and while the property owner did cut a portion of their yard (which ended up looking horrible and then had turkey vultures in it) they did not cut all of it. They part they did not cut in the backyard is many feet high now, and the part they did cut is back up over the 8 inch limit. Maybe a mowing service should be suggested to the owner. Hopefully they are facing higher violation fees since this is an ongoing issue. Also before tickets are closed, there should be a check that the whole yard was taken care of, not just part of it.

I am concerned about the north-south alley between E. Wilson and E. Driscoll running behind the 1300 blocks of S. Lincoln and S. Grant. The alley entrance at Wilson is not perpendicular to the street, curving onto the property at 1315 S. Lincoln. Furthermore, a large bush on the east side of the alley is blocking the sightline of the street; cars driving west on Wilson cannot see cars approaching the street from the alley, nor can cars in the alley see traffic approaching on Wilson. I request that the city straighten this part of the alley to align with the connecting north-south alleys and improve the sightline. Thank you.
