I have been collecting broken asphalt pavement from Sussex Dr, and from High St to Montclair along Queensway as an experiment for the Utility Department on reducing storm drain blockage on streets with significant slopes. I weighed the amount of debris collected since the start of the freeze-thaw cycle and the new pile is just short of 310 pounds on the east side of my driveway. Could this debris be picked up by a city crew for recycling?

I have been volunteering with the Utility Department keeping storm drains clear. Since fall I have been also removing broken asphalt pavement from Queensway to Montclair and from Sussex Dr to Montclair as an experiment to reduce pavement debris from obstructing storm drains. Once again I have accumulated enough debris for a crew to remove it for reuse in new pavement. I estimate there is about 150 pounds of material that I have now placed at the southeast end of our driveway. Thank you. Don Eggert

Can someone please check the timing on the traffic light at High and Moores Pike? It literally stays green for north/south traffic for enough time for one car to get going. Today I could hardly accelerate to get through before yellow and I was the first car in line! The timing is completely off! Thank you!

There are two pot holes on south High Street in front of Childs Elementary Pre-K building (the first bldg south of the school.) The pot holes were repaired last year about this time but have reemerged and are a problem for drivers but also pose a threat to the children who walk to and from school. A water pipe break was repaired and patched earlier this year. There is a small hole cracking and sinking the pavement adjacent to the patch. There are concerns this hole could become larger as winter approaches.

The pavement has large holes in it adjacent to the driveway and mailbox. It breaks up into smaller pieces that are scattered as vehicle tires hit them. They have continued to grow larger as the year progresses.

I estimate there is a segment of pavement approximately four-five feet long that continues to crumble, break apart and grow over the past year. It is in an area where postal workers and delivery vehicles stop adjacent to the house.
