Sidewalk in front of the business not shoveled of snow and ice. My daughter fell on her way to BHSS. I understand a private home might have trouble clearing the walk, but this is a business.
I would love to see a proper crosswalk and sidewalks added at all sides of the Rogers and Rockport intersection. I would also like to request a completed sidewalk added to the east side of Rogers between Rockport and the Switchyard Park entrance. Families from Rockport Hills and the surrounding neighborhoods often walk over to Switchyard Park and I personally have had and witnessed numerous close calls attempting to cross Rogers to enter Switchyard Park on foot. It would be great to have some sort of crosswalk added at the Switchyard entrance to aid those on foot trying to cross Rogers and enter the park. During larger events when the park parking lot fills up, there is overflow parking in the field in front of Catalent. Then a huge flow of people are forced to wait for traffic in order to essentially jaywalk into the park. It seems to me that some infrastructure improvements are needed for this area of Rogers St. to facilitate the main entrance to one of the largest parks in the city. Finally, I think it would be great to have some sort of high retaining wall built around the massive eye-sore electrical transfer station directly across from the park entrance (similar to the one built right next to the Upland Woodshop). The management company has not trimmed the thistle/weeds growing along the driveway and sidewalk and they have become unsightly and hazardous.
I would like to request that the snow plow driver pile up the snow in another location rather than in my front yard. For years now, I have had a really hard time getting grass to grow in that front median, likely because of all the salt that melts into my lawn each year. I would be happy to forward a photograph of the huge snowbank that is deposited there by the plow drivers every time it snows.
Oak trees on street in front of house hang over sidewalk so pedestrians have to duck. One tree was also hit by a truck this week and a branch is now hanging down and obstructing the street.
1701 s walnut. Tree on the street fell into the street. Tree was pushed into sidewalk. Pushed tree into house. Minimal damage to siding but branches caught under / on rubber roof and lifted it up causing leak. Was also pushed over water meter cover may have moved the pit That tree and brush has been hauled away.
Duke Energy would like to remove the tree as it may obstruct powerline work. We were contacted at Olympus Properties for removal approval, however, given that the tree is on the street side of the sidewalk, we were not sure if this tree may actually fall under city property. Is this tree property of the city of Bloomington?
Construction workers from the path project here along Montclair near Southeast Park entrance left lots of debris behind along the sidewalk. They're long gone and didn't attempt to clean any of this up.
I was driving in my car last night after dark and was headed south on Walnut Street when the red flashing lights for the trail crossing by the Switchyard Park entrance were activated. I stopped. I could not see any person right away. Then, a guy came out from behind the pole for the crossing button and walked across the street. What I noticed is that the area is very dark. There are no street lights or other illuminating features that make it so a motorist can see someone on the sidewalk and entering the crosswalk. It seems like it would be a bonus feature to light up the crosswalk with street lights overhead so a person becomes visible in the road to make it safer.
How long until this sidewalk is repaired to be usable? The CBU hazard marker has been here for months.
