Not sure if this is streets, sanitation, or animal control but there is a dead baby deer laying across a storm water drain on East Winslow Farm Drive. didn't know if it had been reported.

The issue occured in Winslow Woods Creek during native habitat restoration in the creek running north to south between Aug 3, 2023 and Aug 4, 2023. The Urban Greenspace volunteer Weed Wrangle team were working in a dry creek on Thursday Aug 3 pulling Japanese stiltgrass between 8am to 10am. On our return Friday morning Aug 4, 8am to 10am, we found the creek saturated, pools of water in some areas, our pulled weeds banked in small dams, all indicating a flood had occurred during the 24 hour period. It did not rain during this period.
I called CBU 812 339 1444, on Aug 4, at 1:44pm, to ask if a water main had been discharged during the time in question. No one has returned my call.
Thank you, I look forward to hearing a response.

I heard my sump pump running and went down into my basement to find water had accumulated in the southeast corner. This is in the vicinity where water would be piped into my home. I checked my water heater which is in that area of my basement (installed last December) and it doesn't appear to be leaking. I'm wondering if there's a leak underground somewhere.

My neighborhood located between Sherwood Oaks church and Jackson Creek middle school is currently undergoing placement of fiberoptic cables. I strongly prefer to not have this done in my yard. My neighbors seem to feel the same. It's already been done recently with Smithville (last year). They nearly hit a gas line in my neighbor's yard two houses over in our cul de sac. They did hit a water line in the yard across the street from us in the cul de sac. They seem to dig without much regard for our approval and preferences as homeowners. Do we have rights as homeowners to decline placement of these fiberoptic cables? I appreciate any correspondence. Ryan Niehaus 2515 E Caray Ct Bloomington IN

I'm trying to find out who to contact pertaining to runoff from a new construction site into the nearby neighborhood waterway on the west side of Bloomington.
My concern is that the construction barrier broke during the big storm in July, causing muddy clayish water to spill out into the road and backup the drains. That water has now made its way into the creek that flows thru Orchard Glen Co-op and meets up with the one along the Karst Farm Greenway. Due to the amount of mud, i believe someone needs to inspect it to make sure it's not a threat to the habitat or karst system there.

The incident (which you can watch below) was caught on camera by another park visitor and shared online via Instagram account TouronsOfYellowstone, which calls out bad behavior at US National Parks. Other examples in recent months have included people dabbling their fingers in hot springs, trying to pet bison, and tearing off their shirts and chasing bears.

New retailer has plans for former east side Marsh store. What we know.

Texas-based sporting goods store Academy Sports + Outdoors has filed plans with the city of Bloomington to move into the 53,000-square-foot former grocery store at 123 S. Kingston Drive.
...
Academy Sports could not be reached to say how many people the store would employ or when it would open.
...
Academy Sports has asked the Bloomington Board of Zoning Appeals for an exception regarding the number of allowed parking spots. Based on the building’s square footage, local zoning laws would allow the company to have 178 parking spots, said Eric Greulich, senior zoning planner with the Bloomington Planning and Transportation Department. The city limits parking in part to reduce the amount of asphalt, which exacerbates storm water runoff and the heat island effect.
Academy Sports said in filings with the city that it would like to use the existing 267 parking spaces, or about 44% more than allowed, because the limit imposed by the city would not allow the company “to properly serve all of its customers.” During peak hours and months — June, August, November and December — customers use between 85% and 100% of available parking and sometimes “park in the areas of the neighboring retailers,” the company said.
