There is about a 6 inch piece of rebar sticking out of the ground alongside the west side of the trail, right by one of the ground lights. It should be removed or cut down. The trail is heavily trafficked and someone could be injured if they trip or catch the edge of the trail right here. Photo attached.

I noticed that someone planted a large number of small trees in an open space in the park. I think it is fantastic that our city is taking these steps to protect it's soils and watersheds, while developing beautiful green spaces. One if the reasons I moved to Bloomington was this progressive attitude.

I have been informed of plans to remove a planting of native trees designed to be critical riparian buffer in Schmalz Farm Park. This is an ecologically unsound decision, and is extremely wasteful as many of these trees may not survive being transplanted twice in such a short amount of time. It's been made clear to me that this decision was made at the behest of a single constituent who called in a personal favor to the deputy mayor. I believe this is undemocratic and nepotistic, and prioritizes the aesthetic goals of a single individual ocert the public benefit of this planting, which will help protect Jackson Creek from runoff and floods which threaten fish and amphibians downstream. I would urge the city to listen to the voices of all constituents, not just those with personal connections to politicians, and to act in the best interest of not just your constituents but also the environment, and allow the planting to remain. There is no shortage of fields for re-creating at this park and at many parks nearby, but few areas for the city to invest in urban greenspace with benefits for humans and nonhumans alike.

Hello! I am a representative of the Bloomington Highlands HOA, and it has been a concern of many neighbors in our neighborhood that people are parking along our streets to access the Clear Creek trail. It is especially problematic at the entrance to our neighborhood along W. Hennessey St. and up S. McDougal St. Could Parks and Rec post signage along the trail and within our neighborhood explaining that parking is permitted at the trail entrance and not within our neighborhood? Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Kind regards - Anna Bragin; Member At Large; Bloomington Highlands HOA

July 4 there were fireworks shot off in RCA park until at least 1:30 in the morning. This later led to shouting and what sounded like arguing before someone finally called the police to break up the situation. I was wondering why the city allowed fireworks to be shot off by private citizens in the park? Why when the park is supposed to be vacated at dark there were people there long after dark? Why the city had to call out a city worker on a Sunday to clean up the mess that was created? and finally what the city is going to do about the constant problems that occur after dark in this park? If it can't be serviced and maintained by the city then maybe something else needs to be done.
