There appears to be a broken water main because water has been rising to the surface on my property the past 5 days. My front north sidewalk (photo attached), east sidewalk, and south concrete garage floor have been soaked for the past 5 days. My basement is dry and no pipes are leaking in my house. Maybe a complex problem, but there is often standing water (rain or shine, but especially when it's been raining) on the sidewalk and the street in the block just east of Walnut on the south side of 12th Street. .

There is a loose person hole cover on the sidewalk at 3rd and Madison, northeast corner,near the entrance to the pedestrian overpass in front of the empty building that used to house a motorcycle store.

Probably a lateral sanitary line but could be a supply line. The sidewalk on the west side of Woodlawn has been perpetually wet for several weeks ever since the sorority there had some landscaping done using large, dirt-moving equipment. The wet spot is alongside the retaining wall on Woodlawn, ~20 sidewalk sections south of Third Street.

Thank you for recently covering an open utility hole in this area by the alley. We noticed another one this morning a bit west of that one. It is also between Fess and Park on Cottage Grove. This one is approximately half-way between Fess and the alley between and parallel to Fess and Park, about 8 feet north of the sidewalk on the north side of Cottage Grove. It is smaller than the last one, maybe 6-8 inches, and looks quite old, unused, and slightly crooked. Maybe just fill it with dirt (?)

SE corner of lot just west of alley and close to the sidewalk there is a medium-sized, water-meter pit that is uncovered. Lid is not around, apparently. Dangerous trip hazard at night, and animals could fall in.
