The manhole covers on 7th are getting loose again and cause a lot of noise when cars drive over them. There is a lot more traffic on 7th traffic on 7th street and you can hear the noise 27/7. A crew came out in June and fixed the problem, but the problem is back. There needs to be some kind of rubber ring installed to abate the noise. The covers are also not seated correctly, making them rattle.
Dear city of Bloomington, While I'm grateful your team has looked into this, the issue is far from being resolved. The repair work did not make any improvement in the noise. The remedy that was done the first time worked for awhile. The grate needs to be opened and cleaned out so that it seats properly. A rubber ring or some kind of padding needs to be placed on the contact points to reduce the vibration. The loud noise is going on 24/7. There is a yellow plug in the concrete that is a tripping hazard.
Once again, i do laundry, and hete comes CBU to the sewer pump station. I reported this previously and was told it was routine maintenance. Routine maintenance in the evening into the dark. Now, the gentleman is here on the afternoon of the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Don't try telling me that it's routine maintenance. I have also had to report odor from this pump station. We have owned this property since before sewer was even here. We have been around that pump station a long time. These things didn't start happening until i added my new house to the system. There is also a house with six kids across the street and new building around me. I have been in the construction industry for over 20 years so i am not uneducated as to these systems. I am also aware of the fact that this area is not going to get the attention the East side or Southeast side of town would get. I think Facebook and HT readers would understand that as well. The developer of Union at Crescent might like to know it to. If there is a capacity problem, please fix it.
The storm water drain located at the front of the house is flooding. I have cleaned the area, however its an issue in heavy rains. I have reported this issue previously as well. Appreciate if someone can come out and address the issue since its the only drain along the street. The drain is on the left side of the driveway. Thanks
A fallen tree is partially blocking the drainage ditch that flows under the B-Line and railroad tracks, directly opposite the B-Line from lamppost 135.
On W. 9th St at the gutter drain just to the west of the BUtler Park Community gardens Parking lot, there is an increasingly large hole that I fear a person, bike, or eventually a car might fall into.
Wednesday, August 9 The catch basin on the west side of the street just north of where the Indiana Rail Road crosses Pete Ellis Drive seems to be plugged somewhere underneath the road. Debris doesn’t pile up on the grate the way it used to, and the large puddle I observed after this afternoon’s thunderstorm was draining only slowly. The water department dug this hole in my yard along with another huge hole earlier this summer. The other was filled and reseeded but this never was.
There is water seeping out of the ground and onto the pavement on the east side of Oak Street, the alley that runs between 5th & 6th Streets. On the other side of Oak is a fire hydrant. I suspect the pipe is leaking.
