Our toilet drains slowly. There is also a bubbling in the toilet when we run the water faucets in the powder room, the kitchen and upstairs. We noticed the problem with drainage on Monday August 28, and it has gotten worst since. There has been recent work on our easement to lay fiber lines. We are certain the issues for our toilet drainage are directly connected to the work done in the past few days. Please remedy our situation. We are not certain if we can run our showers and laundry due to the backup in our downstairs toilet.

We received a notice on our door that our water usage was higher than usual--"30 gallons per hour used." Could this be from watering our garden about every-other day over the last couple of weeks? Should we be concerned? Since we can't access the meter ourselves, is there a way we could get meter readings over a two- or three-hour period when we're not intentionally using any water?

Dear Bloomington Utilities, I am writing to bring your attention to an urgent matter regarding an unusually high water bill that I have received. My name is Kumar Vinayak, and I am a resident at 3220 E John Hinkle Pl, Apt D, Bloomington, IN, 47408. I hope that you can assist me in resolving this issue promptly. Upon reviewing my recent bills, I have noticed a significant discrepancy in the water consumption. In the month of April, the recorded consumption was approximately 30 gallons, while in May, it unexpectedly increased to 35 gallons. These figures are undoubtedly incorrect, as such a volume of water cannot be reasonably consumed by a single individual. To address this concern, we immediately contacted our leasing office, as we suspected a possible emergency situation or water leakage within our house. They promptly responded by inspecting the property thoroughly but found no signs of any leaks or abnormal water usage. This observation leads us to believe that the issue may lie with the meter or its readings, as it seems to be continuously running even when the house is unoccupied. Given our status as students, it is financially burdensome for us to pay the exorbitant amount of approximately $1000 for water alone. This kind of billing discrepancy is highly abnormal, as it greatly surpasses our electricity bill, which amounts to approximately $100 per month. I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and urge you to investigate the issue thoroughly. I have attached a copy of the bill for your reference. I believe it is essential to rectify this situation as soon as possible to avoid any further financial strain on our part. I’ve had some health problems while staying in my apartment here in fountain park apartments due to black mold and a mice infestation. The black mold was found in my kitchen next to the water heater where it had flooded that year and soaked into the wood and rotted. They sprayed it with something to make it go away but I believe it’s still inside of the walls and other parts of the apartment. I’ve been having breathing problems the entire time I’ve stayed here and have documented it all. The apartment manager had someone do an air test inside and outside of the apartment. I don’t feel safe because of my existing health issues and I barely stay in my apartment. My apartment has flooded many times and according to my neighbor this has happened for years because of poor plumbing.
