Problems with taking the public transit to public govt. offices, such as local housing authorities (issuing Sec 8 HCV vouchers, Public housing subsidies, etc.), Bloomington Township Trustee's office (off W. 17th St.), Trustee Kim Alexander, for receiving fundamental necessities of life.
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. I am writing to bring your attention to an urgent matter regarding an unusually high water bill that I have received. My name is Kumar Vinayak, and I am a resident in the Bloomington area. I hope that you can assist me in resolving this issue promptly. Upon reviewing my recent bills, I have noticed a significant discrepancy in the water consumption. In the month of April, the recorded consumption was approximately 30 gallons, while in May, it unexpectedly increased to 35 gallons. These figures are undoubtedly incorrect, as such a volume of water cannot be reasonably consumed by a single individual. To address this concern, we immediately contacted our leasing office, as we suspected a possible emergency situation or water leakage within our house. They promptly responded by inspecting the property thoroughly but found no signs of any leaks or abnormal water usage. This observation leads us to believe that the issue may lie with the meter or its readings, as it seems to be continuously running even when the house is unoccupied. Given our status as students, it is financially burdensome for us to pay the exorbitant amount of approximately $1000 for water alone. This kind of billing discrepancy is highly abnormal, as it greatly surpasses our electricity bill, which amounts to approximately $100 per month. I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and urge you to investigate the issue thoroughly. I have attached a copy of the bill for your reference. People who are unhoused are leaving their belongings / lots of trash in the alley of our office building. Customers/clients/pedestrians use this alley often.
The street tree in front of our office was removed a few years ago and not replaced. The tree plot is a bit of a trip hazard without a tree. Can one be planted in place of the tree that was removed. I believe it was a Linden that was there and it was great!
Power outlet has faulted on light post just inside skatepark boundary next to limestone bench.
This has been on going now for over a week it is all day and all night the people that live there are running a generator to run power into the house and to the 2 rvs in the back by the alley. It’s super loud and I can’t take it much more. I’m honestly surprised the SCCAP office hasn’t made any complaints yet.
One of the fence posts along the Polly Grimshaw Trail has become loose at the bottom. The post is noticeably wobbly as is the fencing in that area. My guess is that the post rotted out approximately where it goes underground and needs replaced. Please address this issue now so that the fence doesn't fall down in this area.
Ugh I’m sorry to have to bother again! I understand there are far more important issues to be tended to but this is just getting ridiculous honestly. Once again I can hear the generator sound running and has officially yet again awaken my kids. My kids have school in the morning and I honestly don’t know what else I can do about this situation. If the electric bill is their issue and the SCCAP office is literally right in walking distance then maybe they should seek assistance to get help paying it. Again I’m very sorry to bother your officers with this issue once again.
