As of 10am Feb 21 the following properties on the south side have dangerous sidewalks: • Walnut Springs Apts. - Several potholes on Covenanter, starting at Kroger, going towards Clarizz Blvd, especially along the yellow line in the middle of the road; - in front of 1520 E University; - at the intersection of 11th Street and Rogers.
Residents at 1000 W 11th St (house on the corner of 11th and Orris) frequently leave their garbage and recycling cans out with the lids open (because they’re too full to close), and windy days pull the trash out and it gets strewn around the street. This week, the crows have been picking through the open garbage can that has been there for nearly a week, and dragging it out.
The sidewalks on both sides of Hillside in front of Woodlawn Crossing Apts (owned by Abodes) and Carlisle Brake Friction have no attempt at clearing snow. Most of the residence on Hillside have cleared their sidewalks, but these places have not meaning you either need knee-high boots to stay on the sidewalk or walk out in the busy street.
I walked to Switchyard Park yesterday afternoon. The walk was difficult and dangerous because sidewalks were not cleared of snow on Walnut (Hillside to park entrance) and Grimes (park entrance to Washington Street). The sidewalks were impassable forcing me to walk in the street. Thanks.
There is a house (to the left of the entrance when you go in) with two German shepherds that bark incessantly every time we try to enter the park. It’s scary to small kids, and if they couldn’t keep their first dog from barking, I don’t see why they got a second puppy.

I received a concern/complaint from Monroe County citizen Margaret Clements at [email protected] expressing concerns about ADA accessibility for the intersection of 1st Street and Walnut Street (quadrant unknown).
