Lots of excessive front yard and back yard growth. The back yard also contains a myriad of trash items such as old toilets which have been collecting water. My pest control company says mosquitoes won't get better here until something is done over there.
Usually I'm don't usually complain about the police department as you all do amazing work around the city. But this morning had to be the most terrifying thing I've encountered. At about 6:45am I'm getting ready to take my dog out, and whenever I take her out before daylight I'm always aware of my surroundings, as I'm always afraid something is going to happen, and in this city you never know. I open the door to go out and noticed my dog is a little more anxious than usually. An out of the corner of my eye I notice this man in all black coming up from behind my house in my yard, and between my car and the neighbors fence doesn't say one word to me as noted it was dark out. Now at this point being in dark clothing and in my yard, I literally thought I was going to have a panic attack cause i had no idea who it was and hurried my dog back inside. Had literally no idea this dude was a police officer as he didn't say a word to me and on that side of the house you can't see his patrol car. So when I go back in and calm myself down, I look out the window towards the other side of my house and notice his patrol car. I don't mind the police being in my yard for whatever reason but at least they could of done was said something when I walked out. Is this standard for you to be in someones yard and not announce yourself? I dont know cause I'm not a police officer. But it would have been great to know as they literally scared me. There are holes in our line: one under the sidewalk, one under the street. They need to be fixed ASAP (we discovered the holes when a plumber was clearing a major clog the holes caused) and we need to know whose responsibility it is to take care of the issues under the road/sidewalk. The estimated cost of repair is incredibly high, and we're trying to find out what options/assistance might be available. Thank you for any information you can provide!
A substantial tree limb grows Across the sidewalk on the Maple street side of the property at about 5 1/2 above the ground. It’s a real hazard!!
Hello, The bike lane on N College is covered in gravel and debris. Under the rail bridge north of 12th St, I am forced to bike in the far right lane of traffic due to the debris. I understand that there is a project on this area, and I sincerely hope that protected bike lanes are installed to create less stressful trips downtown.

You just don't get it. It's not about having a "better" police nationally credentialed by a profession steeped in oppression. You don't get praise for being the top 5 percent of oppressive militarized domestic forces. Are functions of an armed police force necessary unfortunately in present day United States, yes. But should they be LEADING public safety? Absolutely not. Change starts at the top and a public safety chief, perhaps of a law background or social work or public health, not police, needs to be in charge. Social workers and resource officers are seen as LESS THAN by police, as an ACCESSORY to a primary police force. That needs flipped. We need management, particularly a chief, as a social worker for instance. Social workers know when to call on police. Police can be an ACCESSORY to social work. That's the change that is needed. Policing must become the SECONDARY profession and presence when it comes to making sure we are a safe community. Social work and related can be 24 hours just the same as police; ask a foster care case manager. This is solvable! Change the system. The expertise in the community is there.
