i live in the barclay square apartment complex. Every day when I pull out of my apartment complex cars speed past along S Walnut Street Pike. This is a residential area with children waiting outside for their buses, as well as some folks walking their dogs. I believe that if there was a stop sign along S Walnut Street Pike it would minimize the risks of motor vehicle accidents or putting pedestrians in danger.

Ginormous patch of invasive knotweed growing on roadside on S Patterson between Allen and Second Street. It's even growing between the road and the bridge. Knotweed is a curse, much much worse than wintercreeper, multi-flora rose, garlic mustard, or bradford pear. Next thing, it'll be all over the banks of our creeks, lakes, and wetlands and we won't be able to do a damned thing about it. And breaking the roadway and bridge.

For a major chunk, the new pedestrian sidewalks included in the road for the new hospital suddenly ends. Walkers living at the many apartments south on Pete Ellis Dr have to walk in the street as cars and trucks and ambulences drive fast, not looking for walkers in the road, zipping by on their way home to or from the hospital or cutting around to avoid ByPass problems. The sidewalk space must be IU property. They neglected to finish the walk that so many of us need.

I am requesting that a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator be installed in a location along W Woodlawn Ave, somewhere between S Weatherstone Ln and E Wilson St. The speed limit on S Woodlawn Ave is 25 MPH, but the average vehicle's speed in front of my approximate address is closer to 45 MPH, with many vehicles regularly reaching speeds over 60 MPH and even 80 MPH at least daily. The reason why the speed limit is 25 MPH on S Woodlawn Ave is because of its proximity to Indiana University foot and bike commuters, Bryan Park, the Bryan Park Pool, a bus stop, and Union Elementary School. In addition to these elements, S Woodlawn Ave is also hilly which contributes to dangers associated with limited lines of sight between vehicles and pedestrians. Being a thoroughfare between Hillside Ave and streets north of it, traffic naturally flows faster than 25 MPH especially with the only stop sign between 1st St and Hillside Ave being at Sheridan Ave. Drivers frequently “floor” their vehicles through S Woodlawn Ave, and the police speed enforcement seems to never pull anyone over for speeding. For the above reasons, the current traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave is incompatible with its intended use. Installing a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator (for both northbound and southbound traffic) will hopefully greatly reduce thoroughfare excessive speeds. I am worried that this is a formula for someone to get hurt and it is only a matter of time unless the City does something about this. Please at least conduct a traffic study. Looks like a towing company is storing damaged vehicles on the bare ground. There isn't any type of gravel, or paving. I'm concerned about the environmental impact this is having in the area. Its extremely unsanitary. Where is the drainage going? It looks like a junk yard.
