Dead deer, dear.
Dead deer, dear.
There is a dead squirrel in plain sight on the sidewalk beneath the sign that says "Private Property No Trespassing", on the right side of the driveway for 1501 S. Walnut. Please remove it. Thank you.
A small grey and white dog is regularly let out with no supervision and no leash. It runs back and forth across the street and has chased several neighbors. It's barking constantly when it's out. A neighbor just east of the location is calling it Smokey and seems to know who it belongs to.
Dead adult dear partially in street.
I was walking my dog this morning when we noticed a deer ahead in the road, several hundred feet away. So we stopped and turned around to go the other way. I looked back after turning and realized it was aggressively running at us. Fortunately I am young and am able to run. But others in my neighborhood may not be so fortunate. This is completely unacceptable. I know that this is likely a doe protecting a fawn nearby, but I find this unacceptable as a citizen trying to use a public road to walk. It’s outrageous. Had I not seen it running at us it could have attacked and killed my dog, as they have been known to do, or attacked me.
dead groundhog
Very disoriented young raccoon in the road on Sare just south of the intersection.
On 9/5/22, at 8:30 AM, I saw a doe with her neck twisted into a terrible spasm near 1504 S Olive. She could not straighten it even when fleeing. Her head was nearly 90 degrees to the side. At first I thought she was threatening me but she couldn't change posture. No abrasions or blood. Doe and fawn with her looked normal. Both adults had coat loss. Might be a case of CWD? Also filed report with DNR. State website claims no CWD in Indiana but I saw a pretty clear case of it in Renwick subdivision summer 2019--your dispatcher said that's what it sounded like anyway. I wonder if they only count hunter reported cases.
Dead deer
I live in Hoosier Court Apartments and my window faces the apartment complex across the street. I have seen tenants of the apartment on the bottom level throw their dogs out of the window to use the bathroom, rather than taking them outside. They will dump the dog, and then scream at them to hurry up. If the dog is just sitting there, they get pretty violent. They will scream some more. If a dog is not listening, the husband/dad will come out and smack the dog. All of them yell viciously at these animals. I’ve seen five different dogs be thrown out the window. I also have seen a cat. On top of them screaming and hitting their dogs, it is worrisome that they can’t even take the effort to take the dogs outside, so it is doubtful they are taking much care of them at all. It is the first floor, 2nd apartment from the right in the photo. If needed, I can provide footage of the next time they throw the dogs out.
