About once a year, the alley ways need trimmed back of the bushes that overgrow into them. The area of concern are the alley going north/south just east of the Atwater Ave Subway restaurant between Atwater and Hunter, and the one going east west from Woodlawn to Faculty Dr. I drive these alleys daily and have noticed the branches have gotten to the point of needing trimmed. A lot of random junk, trash, and rundown vehicles scattered through driveway, lawn and side of property. There are also many piles of feces scattered through the lawn, contributing to the health concern of the unnecessary build up of trash and junk. Stray cats appear to be living in the junk and vehicles. Trash blows from this yard into neighboring properties and all of the junk creates a massive eyesore for surrounding homeowners. It appears the property owner also stores a trailer and additional vehicle in the street due to the inability to fit any more vehicles into the driveway. The negligence of this homeowner is creating an unhealthy and ugly problem for the entire neighborhood. Something needs to be done about this immediately.

Thanks for RayeAnn’s reply. I understand the street regulation completely, so do my neighbor. That is why he’s using this regulation to do illegal things. By legally park close to my property, he just walk over to take my mail without permission, sit in his pickup truck staking on me, threatening me. Any legal action for me to take to against this harassment caused by legal parking on public street?
I did, police’s reply is “it’s legal for him to park on the public street”. There’s nothing they can do, unless the regulation changes, most likely not in my lifetime. Thanks anyway, I guess I can only wish this guy will behave himself when he gets older.
Suggesting that a speed hump be put on E. Eastgate Lane, in between N. Hillsdale Dr. and the bypass. Cars fly through our street to and from the bypass, and there is a blind corner at Hillsdale and Eastgate.
I would like more sidewalks to be installed in my neighborhood so it is safe for my dogs and I to walk in our neighborhood. We have to walk in the street and pull off to someone’s yard when cars come.
Lack of full attendance of the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals over at least the last three months is seriously hampering the capacity of the City to handle land use matters in an efficient and timely manner. The Board of Zoning Appeals has cancelled its regular meeting for July 25, 2024 for a lack of quorum. While the BZA did technically have a quorum in May and June, there were fewer than all 5 members present for the entirety of either of these meetings. City council and the mayor need to appoint BZA members who are taking this responsibility seriously without repeated absences.
