Scooters, Bike-share and Related Issues

Case Date:
8/7/2024

The scooter is still on the corner of 3rd Street and Meadowbrook, blocking the handicapped-accessible sidewalk ramp. This issue will eventually lead to an accident. Please immediately remove this nuisance from the sidewalk accessibility ramp. I went outside at 5:09 PM and took the picture uploaded here.

Scooters, Bike-share and Related Issues

Case Date:

A Lime e-bike has been parked on the sidewalk since the Labor Day weekend (Saturday). Can the neighbors and I bring it somewhere so it is no longer a hazard? To Switchyard Park? Also, what is the town of Bloomington's law regarding how long these rented vehicles can remain abandoned on a public sidewalk? And if a pedestrian is injured by this e-bike while blocking the sidewalk, would the law go after the town of Bloomington, the entity that has legalized this type of vehicle's use? Previously, there was an e-bike on my neighbor's front lawn for six weeks. My neighbor should be given a form of payment for use/rental of the front lawn for the vehicle's storage. ELIDA C. Business

400-428 S Walnut St, Bloomington, Indiana, 47401

Case Date:
3/29/2020

Around 9pm tonight (Sunday 3/29/2020) the Chocolate Moose on Walnut had a crowd of probably 15-20+ people inside. A big group was congregated inside together to get ice cream. There were also people congregating outside of the business and on the sidewalk. How is this okay? The Governor's order for the state of Indiana says we cannot go out for non-essential trips. The federal government says we cannot be in groups over 10 people. The crowd at Chocolate Moose was violating all of these rules. Can the City take action or should the state or county health departments or a police agency be notified?
