There is a Detour sign across from Griffin Realty pointing north on College Ave. College Ave is one-way street going south. I have kept a spreadsheet of cars going the wrong way for several years. The number has increased tremendously during the month of August 2024. January - July 2024 I witnessed 18 vehicles driving the wrong way. In August there have been 25 vehicles driving the wrong way. I'm only at the office Monday-Friday from about 11:00 am to about 5:00 pm - so there are probably many more. It seems to me that something should be done about this. Thanks, Rachel LaGrange

Hi, I am hoping you can forward this to the appropriate person to address this concern. This weekend I was biking with my son, going east on 1st St and entering Rogers-Binford campus by the playground. We were approaching the trail connection at the end of 1st street east of High St and I was largely focused on the road because it's a bit bumpy there. At the last second I realized there was a metal chain stretched halfway across the trail. I was able to slam on my brakes and skid to a stop, but it was quite a close call. The chain is not particularly visible and wasn't there the last time we went through. We came very close to getting hurt, and it seems likely that someone will get hurt if it stays as is. Someone going through at night is going to be in for a rough surprise. I understand you probably put the vertical post on a tire in the middle of the trail to discourage cars from driving through there and that seems fine, but please (please!) don't stretch a chain across the trail. Or if there's some critical reason that the chain is there, then at least hang a bunch of large bright flags from it or something. Thank you! - RS

Kirkwood Ave should be blocked off heading east from Dunn Street. If cars travel east past Dunn, there is no place to go and they are having to turn around in the Kirkwood/Indiana intersection. Indiana is closed heading north at that intersection and one way heading south. Going straight takes you thr the Sample Gates. I've been watching this happen for several days from my office in Carmichael Center.

Within the Bentley Court neighborhood the city street and sidewalks are blocked by overhanging trees. It is mostly in the middle of the neighborhood along Abby Lane. By the post office boxes and across the street. You can't miss it. You might want to drive around the small neighborhood a bit to see other spots where the sidewalks are blocked. Probably a 30 min job at most. Thanks so much. The main entrance island with three trees are fine...they were trimmed last Fall.

An area of new sod immediately adjacent to the sidewalk and between the sidewalk and street has collapsed (in some places to a depth of 9 inches) in such a way that it is unsafe for bicyclists or pedestrians who may veer off the sidewalk even very briefly. We believe this sod was laid after the ground was dug for installation of the fiber cable for Gigabit Now. We (University Baptist Church) are not certain of the best agency to contact about the problem, and we are hoping that you will either take care of it or direct us to the correct people to contact. Our department has an office located at 2599 Fountain Drive. We saw notice today of planned closure at the intersection of Fountain Drive and Crescent Drive. We wanted to be sure there is a semi-accessible detour to reach our building. We have a large project in the month of July that will involve a semi delivering materials to our space over the course of several weeks. Thank you!

Approximately 30 yards eastward from the stop sign at E Post Road and N Staats St, in the westbound lane of Post road, is a 12" wide by 33" long rectangular indentation originally dug by a contractor and then filled in. The fill has since subsided by one to two inches throughout. Hope it can be topped off to make a smoother street.
