I'm not sure if this is the proper way to report this, but there is a very dangerous crosswalk where I've almost been hit multiple times and I have seen the same thing with other pedestrians. The problem is when crossing from the NE corner of 10th and Walnut to the NW corner. The problems result from the fact that 1) the crosswalk is obscured from view for drivers on 10th coming from the East and 2) the stop line for those drivers is back from the intersection to allow for trucking turning E on 10th from Walnut. The result is that pedestrians start to cross on the walk signal but the drivers turning right from 10th have a bit of speed by the time they can even see anyone in the crosswalk and frequently can't stop in time when they come upon a walker. The only real safe way to navigate that crosswalk as a pedestrian is to just not use the actual crosswalk (eg. stay way to the left almost in the lane of traffic so you are even seen). If you try crossing there at 5pm any day of the week, you will immediately see what I'm talking about. ;) I'm not sure what the solution is but I just know it is very dangerous. At a bare minimum, I would suggest removing the bush at the NE corner to increase visibility but even then the layout of that corner is dangerous so perhaps someone can take a look and see if anything can be done? Large shrub in front of house is so large that it is mostly preventing use of the sidewalk right there. House might be an IU property. Does City have jurisdiction over Campus?

At the NW corner of the intersection of 12th and Fess, there is a relatively new, ADA-compliant sidewalk/curb installation. There may be physical and/or legal reasons for having the center, raised concrete portion present, but it is not obvious and as a result is a trip hazard. We have tripped on it several times. There is a current project at the same intersection, so we were hoping that they could redo it or at least paint the section yellow so that it stands out. It is dangerous the way it is now.

I'd like to submit a request to have the bike path and sidewalk cleared of overhanging vegetation. This is particularly dangerous at the curve of Eastgate and 46 as walkers have to walk on the street where cars quickly turn onto Eastgate. See red line indicating area where vegetation encroaches upon the boundaries of the bike path and sidewalk.

Intersection of 8th and Woodlawn is in desperate need of a marked/lighted crosswalk or even a stop sign. It is very dangerous to cross as a pedestrian because traffic simply does not stop for you.

The intersection of 7th and Dunn has become incredibly dangerous since the removal of the stop signs on 7th St cross streets. There has already been at least one accident. A stop sign *at least* at this intersection, if not every second cross street, is a necessity for public safety.

In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street. Thank you.

First off, I want to say thanks for the stop sign that was recently installed on 7th St at the B-Line trail crossing. This is much appreciated but I have a suggestion for a small change to help improve safety even further. I walk that intersection multiple times a day and see cars that seem to think it is a 4-way stop. If a car stops (and TBH most do not stop) I have seen multiple cases where the car thinks they then have the right away and proceed in front of crossing bikes and pedestrians. My suggestion is to add signage that says "cross traffic does not stop" or similar which is very common for other 2 way stops around the city. That would just be one more sign to the drivers that the trail traffic has the right away and is not required to stop. Thanks!
