The mailbox post that is shared between myself and two other household (renting from same person) is so rusted that it no longer seems safe. Should the landlord of the two other homes be notified? Who is in charge of replacing it, and how can this be done? It seems that if the very rusty pole is removed, how will the new one be installed? Further up the street, people installed mailbox posts in large buckets of concrete. Does the city really want this? By the way, the property where the post is installed belongs to my neighbors - whose mailbox is on Guy street. I appreciate your help with this matter. Dana

So I applied for a gun/concealed carry permit. I paid the fee, then got my fingerprints. They told me to go to a sheriff so I went to the sheriff's office at 301 N College Ave. They said I had to go to the office on 3rd street. I went there and the building was closed so I could not complete my application. What do I need to do from here?

We are located at 2909 E Buick Cadillac Blvd. - Dr. J. Blue Davis's dental office. The property adjoining ours appears to have been abandoned and we are noticing that the landscape is becoming overgrown with plants, grasses and weeds. Also, the fence is the back of the property is beginning to fall down. Is there anything that the City can do to keep this property from becoming an eyesore for the other businesses on our street.

Handicap parking being used by vehicles that do not have parking permits. How about having an online way to report villagers since community office won't tow the vehicles.

The construction on Rhorer and Gordon Pike has pushed a lot of the thru-traffic on the South side to East Burks Dr., resulting in a traffic load that the small, curved road wasn't designed for. More cars are coming through, and not always at a safe speed. This issue is highlighted by the fact that currently, there are no signs prohibiting parking on either side of Burks Dr., so residents park on both sides of the street. This creates a one-lane road that has to accommodate a large traffic load (relative to it's design). Some residents have even taken to parking large tractor/trailer vehicles on the road, which almost completely eliminates visibility of oncoming traffic as you round the bend going from west-to-east. My suggestion is to please restrict parking to the east-to-west side of the street, and post "No Parking" signs on the west-to-east side of the street. This allows for the greatest visibility for both sides of traffic, and also maintains two-way traffic, an important element to South side transportation with alternate routes still under construction.

Hello, I am checking to see if any pot hole and or improvements are scheduled for Weimer Rd connecting Tapp with 2nd St. This road is getting extremely rough and eroding away I believe somewhat due to the winter and the additional traffic that is traveling due to the construction work that is happening all around the area. I work at Wininger Construction at 1605 S Walnut. Neighbor two houses south has lots of trash in back, including stolen shopping carts. Also, due to the amount of foot traffic into that home, I suspect potential drug activity. You may use the Wininger parking lot in back, to view the trash at that house. (Enter our parking lot from Southern Drive. Our office driveway on Walnut is very steep). We reported this house a year or so ago, and I think these are different tenants, but the trash is piling up again. Not a good first impression on folks patronizing our business, and appears to be a health hazard for the neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration.

I need to know who to contact about a construction permit displaying in the window. The owner listed on the sign is fraudulent. The locks have been changed. My sister Christine Wilhelm and son Charles Swinehart are the Owner. My brother has been in hospital and nursing care since July 1st 2016. He has been released but now he has no place to reside. Sheriff office responded to trespassing call on Saturday morning. They only said that it is a civil matter. I do not have permit number from the sign but it is dated 12/7/16.

My recycling and paper recycling was not picked up today. I called twice, both times before dept. closed. First time, at about 11:46 or noon got a man, very nice; second time at 1:50 an answering machine. I'm told recycling is closed on Friday. For how long must I leave these two containers out for pickup? I finally called the Mayor's office, and Elizabeth filed a U-report. Naturally she was nice and very prompt in helping me.
