there is a large growth of hemlock behind the condo at 1369 s. stella dr. but the street is smith rd. it has been reported before and also removed, but it has returned with a vengeance. thank you for taking care of this.
The storm drain on the north side of Wiltshire Court is completely clogged with debris from the storms/rain over the last few days.
I am a new homeowner and I have a question or two! I have two large sugar gum trees in the front of my house on the strip of grass in between the sidewalk and street. I was told that these trees are the city’s property not mine. I am concerned because I have to trim some on the larger branches that overhang my roof and also the roots are bowing the sidewalk out and pushing up the concrete in my basement. If I wanted to service these trees myself do I need a permit or does the city handle these things?
In 2019/2020, the Rogers Multiuse Path Project removed a large area of mature evergreen trees and shrubs. Before the project began, the city convened a public meeting at Sherwood Oaks church, where this project was presented. Neighborhood residents were under the impression (from what was stated at the meeting) that despite the construction and removal of mature trees and shrubs there was a plan to replace the mature trees and provide appropriate barriers to shield adjacent residences from Rogers Rd. Given that one of the adjacent neighborhoods is named “The Woodlands” it is ironic that the large swath of mature trees and shrubs was removed by the city. In 2020, the neighborhood inquired about the promised tree replacement plan and advocated in support of the tree replacement plan via email exchanges with a city employee. Someone has dumped construction refuse across Renwick Boulevard down the ditch towards the path that runs under Renwick. It contains boards debris, and a number of other items that needs to be removed. It is immediately across from 1655 S. Renwick. Additionally, next to the stairs on Renwick Boulevard that lead down to the path someone has also dumped Landscaping debris.
714 S. Rogers is infested with poison hemlock, to the point that it may sicken someone cutting it down.
Report from Mr. Dennis Mayfield that on Friday, June 13, he saw about an acre-and-a-half of what he thinks is hemlock at/near the intersection of N. State Rd. 37 Business and Old State Rd. 37.
