out on west 3rd street at the intersection of 3rd & yancy, there's a vacant business building, & the yard hasn't been mowed yet this year. i think it used to be "B&L communications". as i walk by the front on the public sidewalk, the weeds are up to my waist. one time recently after dark, i could tell there was an animal scurrying around in there, but i couldn't see what it was since it was hidden. felt scary to walk by there, but i have to because of my situation with where i live & work.

Received a call from resident's son at 1118 S. Rogers Street that tree shrub on property of 1117 S. Rogers has overgrown and obstructed the side walk. Resident's son indicated that mother is elderly and has had to deal with the issue for the last 5 years.

I called last Friday and reported that my recycling was never
picked up and I was told to leave it by the curb and it would be a day or so before you would get to it.. As of today it is still in the front of my house full to the top so I guess it will not be picked up until tomorrow which is the usual day for pick up. I need a refund since I pay every month on my water bill for this service. Please have someone contact my.
Thanks,
Julie

I play softball at Twin Lakes where there are huge trash receptacles...but no recycling bins. This is a major problem because the only "trash" that gets thrown away are plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Honestly, there really only needs to be recycling bins there.
I will be following up on this issue. It's really hard to see those plastic bags filled to the brim with things that will never disintegrate in a landfill.

I tried to call 812.349.3400 but got no answer. Thus, I used this form. I just wanted to report a possible glitch that may be happening in the traffic light at Covenanter and S. College Mall Rd. When I approached the light, traveling east on Covenanter, the light was flashing red. I assumed all lights were flashing red and treated it as a 4 way stop. A car on the other side approached the intersection as well. They also stopped. At the time no cars were coming down College Mall. They turned left (south) onto College Mall. I turned left (north) onto College Mall. Just after I turned vehicles were coming up behind me on College Mall, heading north without stopping at the intersection. I looked in my rearview mirror and the light for those on College Mall was green. This is a very dangerous situation as those of us on Covenanter had red flashing lights versus solid red lights. I turned up the road and returned to Covenanter to view the light cycle a few minutes later. The glitch appeared to go away and the traffic light seemed to be functioning properly again. However, it may be worth assessing to prevent possible collisions in the future.

Sewer Problems (Sanitary Sewers)
- Case Date:

My wife and I are owners of a home at 806 W. 4th St., here in Bloomington. We have owned this home since approximately 2006. Recently I had a conversation with John Kirtland, who is the owner of a rental property at 112 S. Maple. This property backs directly onto our Eastern property line to the rear of our home. Apparently, these two houses share a sanitary sewer line at some point, with the Maple St. house connecting downstream of our line, before connecting to city sewer line. This is a best guess, as I am not sure it has been verified. Mr. Kirtland is apparently having plumbing issues with his rental property, and is proposing that he disconnect our line. Understandably, I am concerned that this is not a solution that works for our house. I assume that this current sanitary sewer hook up for these homes has been in place for nearly 100 years, as our home was built around 1920. We have had the clay tile in our backyard dug and replaced with plastic a couple of years ago, although we only went for about 60 ft., until we could connect to functioning line. It has occurred to me that no action should be taken until CBU has been made aware of the situation and given your recommendation. Thank you for your assistance,
George Bull and Faye Mark
