Paula, I wrote earlier today about an issue on the Trail, and I didn't clearly state which Trail. I am talking about the Rail Trail off of Country Club Rd. There is a proliferation of seemingly invasive plants on the first mile or so of the Trail. I thought you would like to know.

Hello! I am inquiring about two $10 registrations for which I would like a refund. On 8/21 I registered my son for two nature classes that were part of the Junior Rangers program. These were 340002-A and 340002-B. On 9/5 the instructor of the program called me and said (in a voice mail message) that he had info saying my son was registered for a class and that they were "cancelling the program due to lack of enrollment". I inquired once before via the "contact us" portion of the registration website, but this was a couple of weeks ago and have not yet been contacted. I hope this method of contact can lead to the two $10 refunds and a resolution. Thanks!

I absolutely love RCA Park and often go with my two dogs to walk the trails and play in the open field. Overall I feel safe, but I have noticed homeless men walking the trails behind the school and walking into the woods (presumably to do drugs or to find their camps which are obvious from some trails). Although not completely comfortable with this, I understand it is still a public park. My main concern is the human feces I have encountered at the park. Once, about a month ago, right on one of the paved trails, and again today (Sept 24) on the concrete area of the public restrooms. This is a serious safety matter that needs to be brought to your attention. Thank you for all the hard work your department does!

This plot just had a tree removed form it. CFC folks are concerned that it is dangerous and that somebody could wipe out in it fairly easy. Suggest putting cones on it until it fixed. It's just south of the southeast corner on the intersection of Kirkwood and College Avenues.

The detour for the B-Line Trail around Switchyard Park right now (10/22/2019) is a product of shortsighted planning, a lack of anticipation of user experiences, and just illogical. When coming from the north, the detour turns you to the west on a small gravel path and leads to a street - W. Hillside Drive. There are no signs after leaving the B-Line that indicate there is a planned detour route. My assumption is to go on the multi-use path on the west side of Rogers. Good luck getting over there in rush hour traffic on a bicycle. No one on Rogers stops for bicycle or pedestrian traffic trying to cross the street. Why would the detour not go on the multi-use path on the north side of Grimes to Rogers? A sidewalk is in place to get from the B-Line (just north of the bridge) to the Grimes path and then use the light to cross Grimes and Rogers to get on the Rogers path. That is what I will do from now on with my logical thinking that the City did not use in setting up the detour. Also, the accessibility issues with the detour as it is now seem questionable at best, and unsafe otherwise. After you cross Rogers and get on the multi-use path to head south, the journey is far from smooth sailing. That path is woefully maintained and clearly not prepared to be the detour of the B-Line Trail. The trail bed has gravel, sand, and glass on it, among other debris. Multiple points along the path have overgrown bushes and tree limbs that present a hazard. The City's detour signs should read: Good Luck to All Who Pass. Thanks for creating a fun adventure on the commute home today. Nothing like leaving the safety of the B-Line to enter a world of traffic, debris, and obstructions. Well thought out. But, what else do we expect in a city that notoriously fails at detours and construction projects? Not on time and clearly out of the way. I'll drive tomorrow for my own safety.

Olcott park pathway to Jackson Creek middle school parking lot. When the temperature drops below freezing, this becomes a sheet of ice due to some drainage from the football field flowing down the paved path. Dozens of school children use the path to get to and from school as well as community members. It has been a high slip risk For the last few years as this path does not receive ice removal or salting on a regular basis. Instead of trying to keep up with salting or removing the ice on this long path I hope the city could look into rerouting the source of the drainage to not flow on the pedestrian path.
