On the corner of Henderson and Winslow There are these rusted posts sticking up. Looks like a good safety hazard waiting for somebody to impale themselves on. Plus no handrail for somebody who needs one.
I sent this to the info email address as well, but I noticed an open electric box at the Rock Creek Dr. and Childs Ct. intersection in Sycamore Knolls this morning. This is a heavily trafficked route for children headed to school and seems like a safety issue.
Our street, North Fritz Drive, is receiving a significant amount of drive-through traffic of people trying to skip the busy traffic light at the Bypass. Myself, my wife and my 16 year old daughter have all been in multiple very close calls recently from drivers going between 35 and 45 miles per hour on a neighborhood street where the speed limit should be no more than 20 mph. We strongly suggest that speed bumps be placed on Fritz Drive asap. It is clear many drivers coming West on the Bypass are going North on Dunn St, into Matlock Heights, then flying down Fritz Drive to get to North Walnut. Please don't hesitate to contact myself, C. The house located at 2231 N. Martha Street is zoned residential single-family (RS), in the Matlock Heights historic district, but it is being used as a fraternity house (Aloha Kappa Lambda), with attendant problems (noise violations, traffic, trash, etc.). This would seem to be a violation of the city’s zoning ordinance.
Tall landscaping blocking line of sight at Lincoln/Kirkwood creating a hazard for pedestrians,non-motorized, or vehicles trying to cross at this intersection.
Hi. The footpath between Southdowns and Greenwood Avenue, which is part of a 'safe route to school', is blocked by an overgrown honeysuckle, which needs to be cut back. It is a danger to walkers and cyclists and makes wheelchair access difficult, as everyone has to go round it onto private property. Could you please cut it back? Thank you.
The corner of the construction fence on E. 10th St. where Crosstown Shopping Center used to be (by Sobon and Jimmy John's) keeps getting pushed out more and more into the sidewalk, making it inaccessible to wheelchairs and a trip hazard even for those with no mobility issues.
The plants on both sides of the path are a little overgrown but the real problem is a very solid low hanging branch that is a real hazard. And another low hanging branch that is likely to hit you in the face with pears.
Railroad crossing on Fountain Drive and Adam's Street has caused my car severe damage on two of my wheels. First wheel a chunk of metal caused me a flat. Second tire nearly came off after crossing the crossing. This crossing is in very poor condition and is causing problems with other people who are crossing the same rail road crossing. The holes are too deep to cross in certain spots. Few times we had to either cross more to the side of the road or cross into the opposite lane of on coming traffic to get by.
