Potholes, Other Street Repair

Hello! I'm writing to request repaving of Uppington Court in Sherwood Oaks. We've had a water main break several months back and now a layer of pavement is chipping off and causing debris where our children play. The condition of Uppington Court can be improved and made safe for our children to scooter and ride bikes by repaving. There is also a person who parks his trailer on the street over where the water main burst and is just filled in with rocks and no curb. It would be best if he could park his trailer and truck on his own property and so that this repair/repaving can be done. Thank you for considering this project! The children in the cul-de-sac (and parents!) would very much appreciate the repaving update.

Bird scooter blocking sidewalk.
These 2 have been there for 2 days now. We have a nearly blind lady in our neighborhood. Can you imagine what happens if she walks her dog and does not realize that these 2 monsters are in her path!

With all the new people coming to town I think it would be helpful to place one of those yellow safety signs on the B- line where the B- line crosses Kirkwood like the one on 6 th where the B-line crosses it. I have lived here quite awhile and I still often forget to check for pedestrians, bicyclists, scooter, etc crossing the B-line on Kirkwood. In fact I think it would be helpful to place these yellow safety signs wherever the B-line crosses the streets.

There were not only these scooters, but 2 more in the middle of the Morton-Grimes lot next to these, plus 2 more to the side. There was a scooter in the middle of the B Line Monday morning. More scooters at the B Line and Allen intersection. I almost always see turned over scooters on the B Line going south from Allen, Bird and Lime. My suggestion is to have huge dumpsters so the riders can simply dump them, as I know often the companies do, a scooter landfill! What a shame!

Sidewalk in front of house has degraded to a point that it is dangerous if someone used a scooter in the dark along this stretch, or even walking. Next time the owner applies to renew the rental permit, please stipulate that the current sidewalk be taken up and a fresh one poured to match the rest of that block and remove the current hazard.

Per the city of Bloomington's electric scooter guidelines "Park the scooter in a bike rack or in another lawful spot on public property that does not block the right-of-way, limit access for individuals with disabilities, risk damaging private or public property, or jeopardize public safety." Two houses from where this scooter was parked in the 700 block of S Eastside Drive, there lives a blind person. She already has made one fall after a collision with a 'parked' scooter. I thought the scooter companies were not going to accept payment until they had proof (a picture?) that the renter had parked the scooter in a responsible manner. So much for that!

Walking down the sidewalk next to Monroe County Public Library last Saturday and had to walk through the mulch/grass to get around yet another scooter. This is an ongoing frustration of mine. As a disabled resident of the Bloomington community I feel as if I am no longer welcome in my home. Scooters are constantly left in the middle of sidewalks, on accessable ramps and entries, and the riders zoom past without regard to the physically challenged members of Bloomington. It makes me want to stay indoors hidden away for safety instead of enjoying the city and it's offerings.
