Dear Sir or Madam: My wife and I own Shean Properties Ltd. and the property at 1114 North College Avenue in Bloomington. Directly to the north of our building is 1116 North College Avenue which is owned by Robert Grabbe. His home has been a mess since we acquired this property in 1994. I believe that Mr. Grabbe has abandoned the building. The postal carrier has told us that homeless people are living inside. The lawn has not been cut in months and I haven’t seen Mr. Grabbe in 3 months. It is time for the City to exercise its authority under the Unsafe Building Law and remedy this situation. At the very least the grass should be cut and the broken windows boarded up. Thanks, John John H. Shean, Esq. SHEAN LAW OFFICES, P.C. 1114 N. Some feedback for your web team: I find the city website generally to be clear, helpful, and easy to use. However, the lack of topic-specific contact information for city staff is frustrating. I don't like talking on the phone. I'd rather have things in writing. I would just like to know whom to email. But I have to guess. This--combined with weird, low-information job titles ("Rental Specialist 1," "Rental Specialist 2," "Program Manager"--those have no meaning to me as the customer of city services!) makes it frustrating to know whom to contact. Why not just make a directory that tells what important topics are in people's individual responsibilities and areas of expertise?
I have been getting a number of uReport complaints addressed at Cityhall, with the address of the problem stated in the comments. Is there an easier way to choose the address for the complaint that could be made part of the program?
