Jane Spencer of 916 E. University Street called to report a dead doe in the easement behind her back yard.
Received a complaint from Julia Tobin at 4307 E. Bill Mallory Blvd regarding a 6" hole near the neighborhood mailboxes at the end of her driveway. It appears to be a location for fiber optics(?). She called AT&T but they said it was the city's issue. She's concerned that this hole could cause an injury. Who needs to be contacted to take care of this hole? Her ph# 812-345-3399. (info taken by Susan Coates in ESD).
Citizen called to complain that neighbor is operating a business out of his home in a residential area. Neighbor has signs, increased traffic and has blocked the street with his trailers. Other residents are concerned and she wanted to know how to tell them to file a ureport.
Gentleman called the OOTM about the old AT&T building (which was was recently sold to Reign C02 Propco LLC of New York) running their generator in the middle of the night. It's very loud and disruptive to the nearby residents' sleep, especially when they have their windows open at night. The generator apparently runs a couple times a year, usually during a power outage, but with no power outage last night he was confused as to why they would run it. I would guess the new ownership could play a part. He called the police last night, they drove by, but said they couldn't do much since it was a place of business. There is no contact information for the building, but if anyone could get in touch and request them to not run their generator during sleeping hours (if reasonable or possible), it would be appreciated. Unsure who to file this report to, or if action can even be taken on it, but I wanted to try to help out this resident, and his neighbors, if possible.
Caller put $4 worth of quarters in meter #7116, on 4th St. across from Rainbow Bakery. Toyota Avalon is parked there. None of the coins registered in the meter, and caller does not want to get a parking ticket during her 3-hour meeting.
Caller reported parking meter #7631, on 7th Street near Walnut, is eating coins. She was able to put in 1 hour's worth of time but then coins weren't registering time on the meter after 1 hour.
Jennifer works at Wonderlab and said she's tried to report several times this week that the parking meters in front of Wonderlab (on 4th St. between Madison and College, minimally) have been blacked out. It looks to her like someone has taken a Sharpie and completely drawn over the meters' LED panels. She's received many questions from Wonderlab patrons about the meters and whether they're functioning.
Caller reported that meter #7673 is taking coins but not registering time.
